The world is divided into 2 categories of people . 1 are the leaders who have faith & full confidence in their vision . Who believe in making a change in the society & are willing to fight every hurdle which comes they way to achieve their dream . The 2nd category are the followers who blindly follow the trends & usually lack the audacity to create something new as their fear failure . I am glad I met one such visionary Mr Jigar the owner of Roots of India restaurant located at Marol Andheri East who is the 1st restaurator in Mumbai to have 500 indoor potted real plants to adorn the ambiance of his restaurant ! Mr Jigar believes that Mother nature provides us everything & without it survival is simply impossible . Mr Jigar believes that India being world famous for its diversity with its culture , religion traditions , language & food changing with every few kilometers , yet inspite of our rich heritage we travel the globe as humans are curious by nature & are born to explore the unkown .Similarly he believes in providing multi cuisines in his restaurant along with Indian food as he wishes to cater to every single person & wants his customers to be thoroughly satisfied with the vast array of lip smacking dishes offered .
I tried the following items in the lunch buffet . First started with the almond broccoli soup which was served piping hot .Simply wow made from scratch using fresh ingredients , The portion size is generous & filling for one person .The soup was rich , creamy with almond slivers adding a slight crunch to the classic soup . Delicious is an understatement . Must order if your are a health freak & looking for something wholesome . Next I tried the assorted tandoori starters served on the table including paneer tikka , veg seekh kebab , tandoori cheese broccoli & stuffed mushrooms . The presentation is flawless & gets full marks .The aroma is enticing to say the least & you just feel like attacking at the mouth watering items . Marinated in rich Indian spices & yoghurt grilled to perfection served with freshly made green chutney . Explosion of authentic flavours in your mouth makes you feel ecstasy as you bite slowly . The panner chunks are large in size & also the button mushrooms are huge .The cheesy broccoli was my favourite which I couldnt stop relishing . One of the best starters I had off late & definitely highly recommended which are ideal with drinks . The American corn salad was a light appetizer which I enjoyed before moving to the main course .They have a variety of assortments like fryums , papads , raita chutneys & pickles at the buffet . The main course had dal , paneer gravy , assorted vegetables & rice preparation . Assorted bread basket is served as per your demand . An amazing option at marol if you are looking for a buffet. They have a wide range of options and the best part is that they have 30 different menus for 30 days. That's wat makes it a must try!!!
🍸The Spirits :
We tried a few mocktails; Peach sunrise, Coffeetini, Strawberry surprise, Green apple martini. Our favourite was the Coffeetini which was a milk based mocktail. Also the green apple martini was good.
🍝The Food :
😀Kasundi Paneer tikka : Paneer marinated with mustard, was nice and soft, also the flavour of mustard was balanced and not too harsh.
😍Aloo palak tikki : This was our most favorite from the vegetarian starters. The tikki was nice and crisp from the outside and the aloo palak stuffing tasted really good. Highly Recommended 🔥
😀Mushroom chili dry : Mushrooms coated and deep fried tossed in a chilly soy sauce. The blend of all the ingredients was just amazing and the mushrooms had a nice juicy flavour from the sauce.
🙂Punjabi chicken tikka : Traditional chicken tikka. They served it as small chunks though.. The taste was good but the chunks were unevenly cooked.
😀Dohra seekh kekab : Dohra kebabs are combination of chicken & mutton kheema. The seekhs were nice, juicy & tasty.
😍Chicken hot garlic : This was the most favourite from the non-veg starters. Coated chicken tossed in a hot garlic sauce. The chicken was so well cooked and the flavour of the sauce had nicely absorbed in the chicken. 🔥
😀Fish kurkure : Deeps fried fish chips. The fish had a flavour of Ajwain which added a really nice element to the fish. They went really along with the green chutney.
In the maincourse we had quite a few things :
We tried the veg handi and Paneer butter masala. Both were just amazing.. The handi had the perfect blend of veggies along with a red gravy. The gravy of paneer butter masala was nice & velvety and the paneer literally melted in our mouth. Also we tried the Methi palak chicken and I was surprised to see how the whole blend of ingredients went so well together.. Again the highlight was that the chicken was cooked perfect, hence was nice flaky and juicy and had absorbed the flavours of the gravy really well. There were quite a few options for the main course. Good job done by the team.
🍰The Desserts :
The Gulab jamun was mouth watering. It was nice and warm just the way we like it. Also we tried some assorted pasteries, Sabudana kheer & a chocolate mousse. Overall a nice spread of Desserts to end your meal
✍️ The Verdict :
I can easily say that the buffet the restraurant offers is by far the best option in marol in terms of value for money. It is also a great option to have your team outings if you are looking for a wide spread of buffet. This was the second time we were here.. Will definitely...
