ROYAL GARDEN Bar & Kitchen — Restaurant in Mumbai

Being a regular for last 10 yrs went with the usual friends (who also are regular) for a quick drink and food.. however to our surprise both the managers at this Bar decided to spoil not just our mood but also break the trust we had in this restaurant for last 10 yrs. Had ordered for Chicken Chilly wherein we realised that the chicken was smelling and just after having one piece we informed the waiter of the same. He picked the order and informed the kitchen manager who tasted the same and instructed the waiter to send the order back on our table cause as per him the taste was perfect we found this behaviour very odd but dismissed it and asked the waiter to replace the order with a different one. To our surprise when the bill came we were charged for the spoilt order which we had not even eaten.. when we politely informed the waiter about it both the mangers at the restaurant, the one sitting behind the bar and the other managing the kitchen came out stating that we ate the food and were avoiding to pay.. whereas the dish was only for 250 rupees when the total bill was already more then 1000. The kitchen manager especially became hyper and raised his voice when we informed him that we would not pay for spoilt food.. he very rudely started speaking that food was proper and we were trying to not pay after eating which we found very offensive, when we told both managers to get the spoilt food plate out and count the chicken pieces added in the dish which would prove how much we ate, both the managers kept their mouth shut and started demanding to pay full bill.. we remained firm that we would not pay for anything that we did not consume is when they backed down and took payment for remainder of the service. Even when we were leaving, the kitchen manager taunted us stating next time we come we will not cancel anything and will charge for everything that’s ordered even if it’s spoilt, we found this behaviour of his extremely hostile. Nevertheless, thank you to both managers to breaking our 10yrs of trust in this...

So this happened...almost 20 days back I went to my usual hangout Royal Garden and end of the night realised that I did not have my wallet on me. Frantic search across the bar lead to no result. but the owner Ramesh Shetty said if it is here worry not you will get it. I forgot about it and get ahead and closed my cards but what was a worry was my DL and aadhar.

But miraculously after 16 days I got a speed post from ramesh shetty with the message saying call this number for your wallet.

I ran to the bar and was so so happy that he had made the effort to take my address from my adhar and send a letter.

basically want to say that next time you planning on losing your wallet do it at Royal Garden while having the best food...

The ambience of the place is striking. The foods yumm and the service authentic. Our server Deepu was prompt and knew when to ask for refills of drinks and serve additional portions without intruding in the flow of conversations.
