A Culinary Delight at Stacks & Racks, An American Diner Worth Savoring..
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Stacks & Racks, an outstanding American diner, for a long-awaited family lunch. Despite encountering an unexpected issue with the air conditioning, which unfortunately seemed to be a recurring problem during my previous visits, my family and I were determined to make the most of our dining experience in the operational section. And boy, were we glad we did!
From the moment we sat down, our well-informed server guided us through the menu, offering impeccable recommendations that were truly on point. We embarked on a delightful culinary journey, starting with the S&R Smash Double Patty Burger, a masterpiece that combined succulent flavors and a satisfying texture. The Caesar Salad with crispy bacon was a refreshing and savory delight, perfectly balanced with its dressing.
For our pasta fix, we indulged in the Penne in Pink Sauce, a delightful dish that showcased the chef's culinary finesse. The Saturday special, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, transported our taste buds to the sunny Caribbean, bursting with aromatic spices and tender meat. And to end our meal on a sweet note, the Blueberry Cheesecake took center stage, presenting a heavenly combination of rich creaminess and a burst of fruity delight.
To complement our feast, we sipped on a refreshing Cold Coffee and Strawberry Mojitos, which were flawlessly prepared and enhanced our dining experience.
Stacks & Racks truly impressed us with their commitment to delivering European American cuisine at its finest. The chefs deserve applause for consistently cooking each dish to perfection, exceeding our wildest gastronomic expectations.
However, while the culinary team thrived, I couldn't help but notice that the servers lacked a bit of finesse in their interactions. A simple smile and a touch of courtesy would undoubtedly elevate their already commendable work to new heights.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Stacks & Racks to anyone seeking an absolute paradise for European American food. It is a haven where exceptional flavors and culinary expertise merge flawlessly. Despite minor service hiccups, the outstanding quality of the food more than compensates for it. Prepare to be delighted and indulge in a dining experience that will leave a lasting...
Read moreAmazing place to have steaks, burgers or basically anything non-veg. Friends were hyping me up since a long time and finally it was time to go and indeed lunch couldn't have gotten better than this. Its literally a paradise for Non-Vegetarians.
For starters we ordered Louisiana chicken wings. Meduim spicy salsa tangy flavour and very well baked 7pcs of wings.
Secondly we headed for the BBQ Pork ribs. These were the best ribs I've ever had. Just 2 ribs in a plate but the serving is huge (about 10" long and 2" thick) imported pork ribs. Cooked to perfection the meat was soft with a generous layer of fat. It didn't feel oily or greasy it was just perfect.
Our third dish was the Tenderloin steak, took it medium rare since I've always had well done. Medium rare is by far the most juicy since its cooked less and also chewey on the inside. The sauce was mushroom based and complimented the steak really very well. Mashed potatoes and stir fried veggies are on the side.
Last main course was the Mambo Italiano steak, again medium rare. What made this better was the presence of chorizo and caramelised onions. This was extremely delicious. Mashed potatoes and stir fried veggies are on the side. All in all both the steaks we ordered were amazing. You can also ask for well done steak if you prefer well done or don't like a little cheweyness.
No meal is complete without dessert and being the cheesecake fanatic, I just had to order the Philedelphia cheesecake with blueberry compote. Apparently this is made by the owner's mom Ann herself. The consistency of the cheesecake was amazing and so was the crust. The compote topping is quite generous and will suffice for the entire cheesecake. Honestly even I was surprised how a place famous for its food has such an amazing dessert too.
We didnt go for exotic drinks or shakes rather kept it simple with thumbs up (served with ice and slice of lemon, really appreciate this) and lemon ice tea.
Pricing was totally worth it despite being a little on the higher side. It's also because of the quality of meat they use, its top notch. Our food bill was aproxx 2700 for 2 since me and my friend are heavy eaters.
Pictures are posted in order of dishes in review.
It's a must visit and my current favourite for a big meal. Hope this...
Read moreMake no mis-steak, this is one of the best and I believe only steak house in Mumbai! I honestly don't know why I didn't come here earlier... Probably because of the hour long plus travel from Bandra... But, I am so glad I finally came here after drooling at photos put up by my friends.
We arrived here around 8 just in time for dinner. Me, never having been here, was quite overwhelmed when the menu came out! With So so so many options from starters to steaks and sandwiches in between... I didn't know where to begin!
The service was fairly quick, attentive and warm. After going through the menu for 20 mins, here's what we had.
Bacon & Cheddar Poutine: Well made fries, albiet a little soggy, doused in some definitely not real cheddar cheese sauce, some sauteed bacon and onions. Not bad at all. I would rate this 3/5.
The Jammer Sandwich: Bacon Jam, More bacon chunks, Onions. It sounded very delicious on the menu, but translated to a very dry sando. It could do with some more bacon jam and some slaw. This one is also 3/5.
The TENDERLOIN STEAK: This one was the true winner of the night. Perfectly made to our liking, delicious mushroom sauce, mash potatoes, grilled veg and a bacon rasher. One of the few places to get the 'MED-RARE' doneness on point. The steak was succulent, juicy and not at all rubbery!! 4.5/5 for this one.
THE MAMBO ITALIANO: This was one monster of a steak plate. With spiced honey chorizo, onions and peppers doused in a marinara sauce, sandwiched between 250 gm MED-RARE tenderloin steak in an Italian sauce, with mash potatoes and grilled veg. Yes, it does sound very delicious and to a certain extent it was. Just that chorizo is such a flavourful sausage, that mixing too many things in it, doesn't really work. This one was good, not great. The steak was beautifully made tho, juicy and tender. 3/5 for this one too.
APPLE PIE: We ended our meal with the soul-warming Apple Pie. Yummy cinnamony apples, incased in a yummy pie crust, warmed and served with vanilla ice cream. You can't go wrong with this! Loved it 4/5 stars.
I am definitely going back, there are toooo many things left to try on the menu. If you're looking for a good steak, look no further...
