Shree Thaker Bhojanalay, the most iconic, 73-year-old Gujarati restaurant tucked in the congested streets of Kalbadevi is close to many hearts for it's soul satisfying food.

Serving Gujarati Thali with all authentic gujarati delicacies. Everything is served on your table piping hot and it's unlimited, so eat till you drop:) they have fixed thali rates for weekdays, weekends/festivals. Monday Evening they are closed. They also have take away mini meals and tiffin meals options.

The ambience now is really good with comfortable ac dinning and the staff n service is excellent. They rightly prove the statement "Atithi Devo Bhava" correct where the staff as well as the owners are always there around you, make you eat with all love, they insist you to taste their specialities or to try some old authentic dishes.

Coming to food, they deserve full marks, the thali includes farsans, mains, sweet dishes, salad, chutneys and chilled chaaass. It's massively huge thali, they have many varieties which everyday keep rotating.

Yesterday in my thali it included -

• Puris, Phulka Rotis, Puran Poli, Makai Ki Roti, Bajra Rotla, Jowar Rotla and super tasty of all Crispy Soft Biscuit Bhakri. Don't forget to try hot Bajra Rotla with ghee and jaggery, it tastes heavenly.

• Meethi Daal(sweet), Theeki Regular Daal, Khati Kadhi, Sweet Kadhi and Mango season special Fejeto. Try n visit this aam season, to try their Fejeto.

• Dhokla, Vatana Pattice, Different Varieties of Bhajiyas, Khasta Kachori Chaat and my favourite item of all Marwari Special "Daal Baati Churma"

• Aam Rus, Gulab Jamuns, Shrikhand and Fruit Custard

• Turiya Patra, Bhinda Nu Shaak, Bateta Tamatar Vatana nu russa walu Shaak and Mug

• Khichdi n Steamed Rice served with lots of Desi Ghee :)

• Sides - Pickles, Marcha, Papad, Khichiya, Kobi Sambharo and Kachumber.

• Unlimited Chilled Dahi and Chaaaaassss :)) Love it so much

Everything on thali was so tasty, it was just perfect Traditional Gujarati Thali, simply delicious, pure desi gujju food.

Make sure you go empty stomach so that you can devour this huge delicious thali to the fullest.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thakkers Bhojanalaya in Kalbadevi, Mumbai, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for a truly delightful meal.

One of the standout dishes at Thakkers Bhojanalaya is their thali, which is a traditional Indian platter that includes a variety of dishes, such as dal, vegetables, rice, and bread. The thali at Thakkers Bhojanalaya is served in generous portions and is made with fresh ingredients that are bursting with flavor. Each component of the thali is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and I found myself savoring every bite.

Another highlight of my meal at Thakkers Bhojanalaya was their paneer butter masala, which is a creamy, tomato-based curry that is typically served with paneer, or Indian cottage cheese. The paneer at Thakkers Bhojanalaya was incredibly tender and soaked up the rich and flavorful sauce beautifully.

In addition to their delicious food, Thakkers Bhojanalaya also offers excellent service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, and they went out of their way to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable.

Overall, I highly recommend Thakkers Bhojanalaya to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Indian meal in Kalbadevi, Mumbai. Whether you're in the mood for a thali or a la carte dishes, you won't be disappointed with the quality of the food or the...

Shree Thaker Bhojanalay has been ruling the Gujarati Thali scene of Mumbai since 1945… and rightfully so. The place serves authentic Gujarati vegetarian fare through their Unlimited Thali. Food is simple and flavourful. You will be spoiled for choice. We were served five sabzis, a dal, a kadhi, two sweets, multiple options of rotis, varieties of farsan and the main attraction.. Aamras. The choices in rice were khichdi, pulao and steam rice with Dal. There's a free flow of ghee wherever you need it. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The service was impressively prompt and perfect. The patrons are happily urged to have more servings. At ₹1000 per Thali, I will not be surprised if some find it steeply priced. But then they make it up in quantity, quality and service. It's value for your money. A few negatives would be ambience and accessibility! The fact is that it's an old eatery which today falls short of space and hence crammed up. Also the restaurant is on the first floor, so senior citizens with trouble taking the stairs should stay away. Thirdly, we all know that there's no parking space in this locality and so taking public transport to teach here is highly advised. In the end I will say, wherever you live in Mumbai, a visit here once in a while is well worth it. P.S. They should use the tagline… Khaao Maari Saathey 😋
