I had the absolute worst dining experience at Restaurant Shubh Sagar in Andheri East. This place is nothing short of a fraud, and I feel cheated and infuriated by the terrible service and food they provided. My visit was at noon, a time when one would expect the Indian chef and staff to be present, but to my dismay, they were nowhere to be found. Instead, they had the audacity to take orders for Indian dishes, and to my disbelief, the dishes were prepared by none other than the Chinese chef! This blatant disregard for authentic Indian cuisine is insulting and unacceptable.
Let's start with the food itself. I ordered the supposedly famous Dal Makhani, and it turned out to be an absolute disaster. It lacked any discernible flavors, was completely bland, and tasted like a half-hearted attempt at cooking. It was an insult to the rich and aromatic dish that Dal Makhani should be. I can't fathom how a restaurant can serve such subpar food and still have the audacity to claim they specialize in Indian cuisine.
To add to the nightmare, the food took an eternity to arrive at our table. I don't know what kind of disorganized chaos was going on in the kitchen, but it was obvious that they had no respect for their customers' time. When I tried to raise my concerns with the staff, they displayed a shocking level of indifference and nonchalance. It was as if they couldn't care less about the dissatisfaction of their patrons. It's outrageous to think that they can simply ignore their customers' valid complaints.
I implore the management of Restaurant Shubh Sagar to take a long, hard look at their operation and seriously consider shutting down their Indian menu. It is apparent that they have no respect for their own culinary traditions or the hard-earned money of their customers. If they can't be bothered to hire a competent Indian chef and staff to handle Indian dishes, then they should not be offering them at all. Playing with people's emotions and expectations for a quick buck is a dishonest and unethical business practice.
In conclusion, my experience at Restaurant Shubh Sagar was an absolute nightmare. From the lack of Indian staff to the tasteless and poorly prepared Dal Makhani to the complete disregard for customer satisfaction, this place is a disaster waiting to happen. Save your money, your time, and your taste buds, and steer clear of this sham of a restaurant. There are plenty of other authentic and reputable eateries in Andheri East that deserve your...

Read moreWe visited this restaurant to try some vegetarian food. This place is at Marol Naka, very close to the metro station. We tried Pav Bhaji- Pav bhaji was the best here. The bhaji had right amount of everything, and wasn’t overly buttery. Butter was added in the right amount. Simple yet so delicious, highly recommend everyone to try out Pav Bhaji from this place. Shubh Sagar Spl Dosa- This was very unique. I have never had dry fruits in my dosa before. This dosa had a masala paste, grated cheese, beetroot and carrot inside and was garnished with beetroot and carrot and dry fruits on top. Served with Sambar and Chutney. It was served beautifully and I absolutely loved it. Veg Cheese Grilled Sandwich- This was loaded with fresh cucumber, tomatoes, potatoes, mildly spiced onion and capsicum and topped with cheese. Again the garnishing was beautifully done. Gadbad Ice Cream- In desserts we tried the gadbad ice cream and I totally loved it. This had 3 flavours of ice cream, fruits, jelly, tutti fruity and chopped nuts. Perfect for 2-3 person. Restaurant is very hygienic and the staff member’s are friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Overall definitely a must...
