I recently had the pleasure of dining at Swadesh restaurant, and it was truly a nostalgic experience. The restaurant, with its vintage charm, transported me to an era when simplicity and authenticity were the hallmarks of a great dining experience.

The menu boasted a wide array of classic Udupi dishes, each prepared with a dedication to traditional flavors staying true to the original Udupi taste.

What impressed me most was the warm and welcoming ambiance, reminiscent of a bygone era. The attentive staff added to the overall charm, providing service with a genuine smile.

While the decor might be considered dated by modern standards, it adds to the restaurant's character and authenticity. It's a place where the focus is undeniably on the food, and rightly so.

In a culinary landscape dominated by fusion and contemporary twists, this old Udupi gem is a refreshing reminder of the rich gastronomic history that continues to hold its own. RESTAURANT SERVICE & FOOD both were PATHETIC... Worst restaurant experience ever !! Not really revisting this one...

Ordered mushroom Pulao followed by mushroom Tikka starter...

For pulao fat basmati rice was used... No quality even for a decently medium-high price!!.. Next we informed the waiter twice to get extra raita... which never landed to our table even after our exit... Nor did they bother to Inform if they will get one.. Nor do they care to serve food...

Then came the starter with salad (that had extremely extremely strong taste of vinegar.. as if the salad was soacked for days in it) and green spicy chatni.. despite of informing the waiter we want less spicy food, the waiters ended up with the usual spicy green chatni ( but no sweetener Or curd or raita as sider)...

RESTAURANT SERVICE & FOOD aren't worth the price and time... These guys are just running a restaurant with no value for...

We had a great dining experience at Swadesh while enjoying some classic Indian flavors. We tried the Medu Vada Sambar and Misal Pav, and both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The Medu Vada had a perfect crispy texture on the outside while being soft inside, paired beautifully with the aromatic sambar and delicious chutneys. The Misal Pav was spicy, flavorful, and authentically prepared, with a rich, well-balanced misal topped with crunchy farsan, served alongside soft pav. The food was served hot and fresh, enhancing the experience. The restaurant had a comfortable ambiance, and the service was prompt and friendly. Overall, a great place for enjoying authentic South Indian and Maharashtrian flavors.

I had a good experience eating here. I went with my family for evening snacks here. The table was ready when we entered and waiters were ready for order, so it had quick service. We ordered multiple items like Papdi chaat, idli vada combo and masala rawa dosa. The taste of each item was very good, the quantity was good and fulfilling. The medu vada was really soft & fluffy making idli shy. The rawa dosa was really good and the masla was in good quantity, lastly padi chaat was amazing, it had few chunks of media wada in it which was slightly unique but the chutney and tasty was fantastic. Must visit place for food.
