HERE'S MY RESPONSE TO alok's reply TO MY FIRST REVIEW (READ ON, THIS JUST GOT BETTER): My opinion - worst place ever. NEVER GOING THERE EVEN IF SOMEONE OFFERS A TRUCK-LOAD OF MONEY
SINCE I DO NOT HAVE AN OPTION OF RESPONDING TO THE RESPONSE THAT YOU TYPED Alok HENCE I AM RESPONDING TO THAT HERE IN CAPS LOCK (Reply to your response in caps lock). FIRSTLY, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU FALLING BACK UPON YOUR 2nd GO-TO ARGUMENT (operating for 3 decades) DOES NOT REALLY PROVE THAT WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING IS RIGHT. NOT ONLY HAVE II FREQUENTED PUBS (WHICH WERE WAY MUCH BIGGER AND BETTER THAN YOURS) ON WEEKENDS IN INDIA BUT OUTSIDE INDIA TOO AND I TRULY DONT NEED TO LEARN FROM YOU HOW A PUB WORKS. IN FACT, IF YOU ARE OPEN MINDED ENOUGH THEN I CAN GIVE YOU A FEW POINTERS WHICH WILL HELP YOU LEARN A THING OR TWO.
NUMBER ONE - BE POLITE TO THE CUSTOMERS AND TREAT THEM LIKE CUSTOMERS.
NUMBER TWO - STOP DEFENDING YOURSELF AND YOUR STAFF AND OWN UP TO THE PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU PROVIDE. IN YOUR CONDESCENDING RESPONSE NOT ONCE DID YOU MENTION THAT SOMEONE WENT HUNGRY FROM YOUR PUB EVEN AFTER ORDERING FOOD AND YOU INTEND TO CHANGE THAT IN THE FUTURE. NOT ONCE
NUMBER THREE - I WILL TAKE YOU TO HIGH END PUBS IN MUMBAI WHICH DO NOT OPERATE THE WAY YOU GUYS DO . SO, COME OUT OF THE (we operate the way the world operates) BUBBLE YOU ARE LIVING IN, BUDDY
NUMBER FOUR - THE FACT THAT YOU CLAIM THAT YOU EXPLAINED YOURSELF THE OTHER DAY WAS BTW NOT REALLY A PROPER EXPLANATION. IT WAS JUST YOUR SIDE OF THE STORY. I WAS ACTUALLY SURPRISED TO HEAR YOUR TONE TOO WHEN YOU WERE 'EXPLAINING'. I NEVER AGREED WITH WHAT YOU SAID BUT I WAS TOO HUNGRY TO ESCALATE THINGS FURTHER BUT ALAS, FOR FOOD I HAD TO GO TO THE PUB NEXT DOOR. SO PLEASE DON'T MISREPRESENT FACTS
AND FINALLY - AS FAR AS GOING TO YOUR PUB IS CONCERNED, I WOULD LAUGH ON THE FACE OF THAT. NEVER EVER. I GUESS A CUSTOMER WHO POINTS A FINGER AT YOU AND CALLS A SPADE A SPADE IS NOT YOUR CUP OF TEA (OR BEER OR FOOD - LOLZ)
My opinion - worst place ever. NEVER GOING THERE EVEN IF SOMEONE OFFERS A TRUCK-LOAD OF MONEY
First Review:
My opinion - worst place ever.
Firstly, it's too crowded to even stand. (Some people might like that part, so even if we discount this, read the rest, its insane, guys)
2nd - the waiter at the counter jay prakash pandey - (hopefully getting the name right here) probably thinks that he is a governor or something - doing you a favour by serving. Extremely Rude
3rd - the guy who introduced himself as one of the owners endorsed the behaviour of his staff.
Apparently, since its a pub, you have to (I was told that its a mandate) order the alcohol 'first'. I had asked for a beer WITH My food but hey, its a pub, guys. So no matter what your eating habits are, you still need to order according to their rules and regulations ('convenience' seems to be more of an apt word here).
For all this, their 'go to' excuse is that they don't have enough space.
Like, seriously, if you don't have the bandwidth to treat your customers like customers, then I feel that you do need to bring about some changes in the way you operate
Oh, and the best part (read 'the worst part') is - imagine you are famished and you ordered your food and beer, went out for a smoke, that too within the premises (even told the waiter that I will be back - but hey, he's too busy to even look at you) came back in only to learn that jayprakash pandey (the waiter) has already taken the liberty to cancel your order cuz he couldn't see you for 5 mins (somehow this time he wasn't busy and was pro-actively looking for ME. Touching, isn't it, lolzz)
Guys, give Me a truck-load of money, I am still not going to this place ever. My opinion - Worst place ever.
Oh, btw readers, right after this horrendous experience, I walked out of totos and walked for a minute to reach this fantastic resto-pub which literally had amaaaazing food, music and crowd - and there's also enough space for people to dance - unlike some other places I know. This new place ensured that I end up having an...
Read moreDear Management,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding a recent experience my husband and I had at Totos.
Despite being regular customers for the past 8-10 years, we were shocked and dismayed by the treatment we received during our most recent visit. It was particularly distressing to encounter what appeared to be gender inequality in your establishment.
Both my husband and I were dressed appropriately, wearing fashionable oversized vests, yet only I was allowed entry. This arbitrary decision was not only embarrassing but also unacceptable, especially considering that Totos is not a fine dining restaurant but a garage bar.
Furthermore, the rudeness displayed by your staff further tarnished our experience. However, it saddens us to see such a decline in both hospitality and professionalism under the new management .
As valued customers, we expect to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of gender or any other arbitrary criteria. We sincerely hope that this incident was an unfortunate exception and not indicative of the overall standards of Totos.
We urge you to address these issues promptly and take the necessary steps to ensure that all patrons are treated equally and with the utmost courtesy...
Read moreI am really feeling ashamed that nowadays people do not have any respect for elderly people . I visited this place today around 7 30pm with my mother . There were two four seated tables vacant where one was tagged reserved and the other one was literally empty . This elderly staff told that we have to sit in the bar . I requested him can we sit in the table which is not reserved as the bar chairs are really high and it will be really difficult for mom to sit there . He told me to go and sit outside if we don’t want to sit in the high raised bar chairs and trust me this was told to us in a very disrespectful manner like we are nobody’s and some beggars who just came inside without permission. I told him you don’t want us to sit because we are two people . He was like yes and go and sit outside in a very rude manner literally showing us our way towards the door to leave . I never thought in a place like Mumbai there is no respect and politeness given to customers at the first place and specially to an elderly woman . Maybe he thought we won’t be able to give him much business on a Saturday as we were two women out of which one is an elderly woman . What ever be the reason it could have been conveyed to us honestly and in a polite manner ....
