Nestled near the serene wood mills lies a culinary gem that whisks you away to the vibrant streets of the Middle East. As I stepped into the restaurant, the aroma of exotic spices instantly tantalized my senses, promising an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu boasted an array of Middle Eastern delights, each dish a masterpiece of flavor and tradition. I started with the Hammus, a creamy blend of chickpeas, tahini, and lemon, perfectly balanced with a hint of garlic. Accompanying it was the Fatush Zattar, a refreshing salad bursting with freshness, adorned with crunchy pita chips and fragrant za'atar seasoning.
However, the star of the evening was undoubtedly the Shwarma. Tender slices of marinated meat, grilled to perfection, and nestled in warm pita bread, it was a symphony of savory goodness that left me craving more.
The restaurant's location near the wood mills added a unique vintage charm to the ambiance, transporting diners to a bygone era. The rustic décor and dim lighting further enhanced the dining experience, making it feel like a hidden oasis in the bustling city.
Yet, amidst the culinary bliss, there were a few hiccups. The air conditioning left much to be desired, especially during warmer evenings, detracting slightly from the overall comfort of the dining area. Additionally, the service was a tad slow, with delays in taking orders and delivering dishes to the table.
Despite these minor setbacks, the flavors of the Middle East shone brightly at this enchanting restaurant. From the first bite to the last, it was a culinary journey that left me enchanted and eager to return for another taste of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine amidst the vintage charm of the wood...
Read moreZaatar is a generic name for a family of related Middle Eastern herbs. What Zaatar is to Lebanon, is what Peanut Butter is to America. I was thrilled to find out from Zomato, a Lebanese & Middle Eastern Cuisine existed at Mahalaxmi. I had tried this during lunch after my client visit. Please note this place does not serve Alcohol.
The place is a relative a small sit down joint with around 4 tables and a major focus on online delivery. The interiors are decent, well lit up, however, the space between tables is compromised. Chubby people with even a small belly would find it extremely tough to fit in.
The service is good, friendly and consists of a good menu spread. We had tried the following: ▶Mint Lemonade - Old school mint Lemonade. Rated - 4/5
▶Tamarind Cooler - A refreshing, punchy drink with a lot of zing. Recommended..!! Rated - 5/5
▶Avocado Houmous - Houmous blended with Avocado & cilantro. Nice and a must try..!! Rated - 5/5
▶Chicken Shawarma - Chargrilled Chicken with vegetables, fried potatoes & garlic sauce in a homemade Pita Rated - 5/5
▶Muhammara - Spicy red pepper with Walnuts, Pomegranate & Arabic spices Rated - 4/5
▶Mutton Kabab - Probably the only disappointing dish which as the Kabab was overcooked and was dry. Rated - 3/5
▶Dark Chocolate Houmous - Dark Chocolate with Walnuts served with crispy Cinnamon pita chips Rated - 5/5
Summary: ▶Interiors - 4/5 ▶Quantity - 5/5 ▶Presentation - 5/5 ▶Service - 5/5 ▶Food - 4/5 ▶Value...
