I have had a rich experience of good non veg eateries in South Delhi since last 25 years, from Rajinder Da dhaba (sajdarjung enclave) to Kaake Da hotel in CP, jama mazjid (Al jawahar, karim, Aslam and others), jamia (Tipu sultan, other Zakir Nagar eateries), Moonish kada at batla house, NFC's Al bake, Nizamuddin eateries, Lajpat Nagar's hunger strike (tandoori momos), Kebab corner at kalkaji, Sanjha Chulha at east of kailash, Qureshi at GK II, Nazeer's at Malviya nagar and other outlets, Chankya puri Chinese & North indian food joints (momos and other tandoori/roasted stuff), Palika Bazaar's (CP) dahi wala meat. Apparently, I wanted to share my experience of place Al Kauser at main outer ring road near malai mandir, as per my yesterday's visit (my first ever visit to this resturant), in my opinion the food was not at all up to the mark according to the kind of prestige this resturant have. Having said that, cost of food was also on the higher side as compared to the other populer food joints we have in South Delhi I ordered chicken tikka roll, mutton roll and mutton kabab. The chicken tikkas they placed in the roll were all frozen and had just been warmed up, mutton kebabs and roll were not good in taste at all, In fact I did not able to eat the food completely and hence had to leave it. One of my friend Anish faced the same experience out of this visit. Unfortunately, we were short of time due to which we couldn't give this feedback directly to the chef/owner of the resturant (though, I did manage to get hold of one of the waters serving us and mention this quickly to him). Forgot to mention, service was good. All in all, the kind of expectations I had from this resturant was of very high class because of its reviews from my mates and online blogs, but it was literally opposite to what they said to me. And please note, I am giving this feedback on my personal experience only, nothing has been made up or mocked up here. Concluding everything, I do not find any reason to visit this joint again or referring any of my friend/mates...
Read moreI recently visited Alkauser Restaurant with high hopes for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the appalling service to the mediocre food and the rude behavior of the staff, this establishment failed to meet even the most basic expectations of a restaurant.
First and foremost, the service at Alkauser Restaurant was abysmal. The staff members were incredibly rude and seemed disinterested in providing any form of customer service. When I politely asked for a spoon, I was met with outright denial, which is both baffling and completely unacceptable. Such behavior reflects a complete lack of professionalism and respect towards customers.
Moreover, the quality of the food was far from impressive. While some dishes were passable, most were just "okay" at best. The flavors were bland, and the overall presentation was lackluster. It felt like the chefs had put minimal effort into creating a memorable dining experience. Considering the reputation and prices of Alkauser, this level of mediocrity was highly disappointing.
Furthermore, the atmosphere of the restaurant was far from inviting. The ambiance was dull and lacked any charm or character. Coupled with the unhelpful and rude staff, it made for an uncomfortable and unwelcoming dining environment.
In light of my experience, I cannot recommend Alkauser Restaurant to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience. The combination of terrible service, average food, and the disrespectful attitude of the staff made this visit an absolute letdown. I sincerely hope that the management of Alkauser takes these criticisms seriously and implements the necessary changes to improve their overall customer experience.
It is essential for any establishment to prioritize customer satisfaction, and unfortunately, Alkauser Restaurant failed miserably in this regard. Save your time and money by choosing a different restaurant that values their customers and offers a better...
Read moreIf you’re looking for the most delicious (a little high on spicy side for me) yet very easy to melt in your mouth, kakori, galouti kebabs in the entire New Delhi area then do visit this place and try them. Their other dishes like roasted chicken, chicken, mutton korma are also quite delicious. If they bring down the spicy level of each dish by just by 1 notch I think they will become unbeatable. Unlike Karim’s they avoid putting way too much oil in all the respective mughlai dishes. Phirni in desert is also a must have. The restaurant doesn’t have enough space to accomodate large volume of people so during peak lunch or dinner time make sure you get a reservation done in advance if you are going there as a large group of people. Please keep in mind this place is more of a drive in, casual feel rather than a full-service restaurant vibe, which works great for takeaways or late night bites.
If you’re someone who appreciates rich, indulgent Mughlai cuisine, Al Kauser rarely disappoints on the food front.
The restaurant staff is good, corteous and takes good care of their customers.
Prices are slightly on the higher side for a takeaway joint, but given the quality and consistency of the food, most people find it worth the spend.
Pros:
Legendary Kakori kebabs
Authentic Mughlai flavors
Quick service
Good for drive-in or takeaway meals
Open till late, ideal for night cravings
Cons:
No proper dine-in option
Limited seating and ambience
Slightly premium pricing for a roadside-style setup
Can get crowded during peak hours, especially weekends
Final Verdict:
Al Kauser, R.K. Puram, is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys North Indian or Mughlai cuisine, especially kebabs that are done right. It’s more of a “food-first” place than a dine in destination, so go there with the expectation of indulging in rich, flavorful food without the frills of restaurant level service...
