Got really excited when I saw this restaurant in Vasant Square mall and had high hopes since this is located next to a Thai grocery store owned by the same brand next door. The food items in the menu and the ingredients seemed authentic but the food and service could be better.
We ordered the tom yum soup with pork and thai herbs, fresh spring rolls, papaya salad and thai bubble tea. They served me tom yum soup without pork the first time, when I told them they served me again, this time with very less noodles and there were hardly any thai herbs in it. The flavours were good but it would have tasted better with more noodles specially for a dish priced for Rs 645/-. The papaya salad was good and so were the spring rolls but the spring rolls took a long time to come. The thai tea was also authentic.
The server at the restaurant was confused and there was a clear issue of miscommunication between the server and chefs. The server informed us that the original chef is Thai and they weren't there when we went. I will try to visit again and I hope the food will be...
Read moreA very unique experience, definitely worth a try. There are two sections, one is for ala carte Thai cuisine and one section is for their BBQ. This time we tried the BBQ. One has to cook their own raw food on the griller and soup broth. Do keep an eye on the burner as our gas wasn’t working so the griller and the soup container was. It heating up. They changed the butane gas cylinders 3 times but still didn’t work. Eventually they switch the gas cooker and then we were back to cooking our meal. Didn’t understand the cold meats though.. chicken salami and pepperoni.. in the choice of selection. Concept was different but somehow didn’t understand the Thai aspect of the meal except the 2 dips that we got. Everything was bland and not marinated or spiced. Anyways we did enjoy our dinner although we were confused at the onset on how to order how much it would cost per head etc. so we asked the diners on the next table. A warning though if you are a big eater then the bbq may not work for you as the...

The laab was an explosion of authentic Thai flavors, the fresh spring rolls were delightful, and the bubble tea was a perfect blend of sweetness. Each dish resonated with genuine Thai taste, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen. The ambiance was elevated by the inviting tunes playing in the background, creating a pleasant atmosphere. What sets GinKhao apart is the warmth of the owners, a delightful couple who personally interacted with us, making our visit exceptionally comfortable. We had a blast and would undoubtedly revisit. I highly recommend GinKhao to all Thai cuisine enthusiasts – it's a culinary gem that captures the essence of Thai flavors, coupled with a welcoming environment that leaves you eager to return.
