Gola Sizzlers Connaught Place is quite a popular outlet that you can easily understand while sitting there on the basis of regular walk-ins. Despite almost a full house on both the floors, there are still chances of getting a table when you walk-in. The credit for this goes to Sizzlers. Sizzlers always prompt you for quick action. That is why a Sizzler takes lesser time to consume than a regular meal. It is always enjoyable as long as it keeps sizzling. And that it does for quite a short duration. Well, as the name suggests, Sizzlers is a specialty here. That is a sort of a rich legacy that this prestigious restaurant is carrying since its inception. The quality and variety of Sizzlers are fabulous. You order any of them among variants from Indian and Chinese sections and you are sure to enjoy.
With every Sizzler at Gola Sizzlers, you get a small bowl of pasta and a loaf of garlic bread. With Indian Sizzlers, you also get a Prantha or Roti. Also, don’t forget to taste their complementary red & juicy onions and Pudina Chutney. Those are excellent in taste adding an additional value to the dishes you order. We had Pudina Paneer Tikka Veg to start with. Pieces are of good size. Preparation, presentation, and taste are nice. Paneer is fresh and tastes good. Next, we had Veg Seekh Kebab Sizzler that is a class apart. It’s a must try, I would recommend for all veg lovers. Baby Corn Broccoli Mushroom Sizzler is equally good. Incomparable and relishing in all respects. To accompany these, from the drinks section we had Fruit Punch, Fruit Beer, and Fresh Lime Soda. All different in preparation, taste, and presentation. And good to enjoy.
I could see a sizzling buzz and a prominent kind of aroma traveling from the kitchen of Gola Sizzlers to all the tables occupied there at frequent intervals and varying times. Each Sizzler having a different aroma enriching guests occupying tables on the way to the destination table. Though tables are quite close yet they form a comfortable level of privacy because of their wider size. Talumein soup here is as good as Burnt Garlic soup. Both, again are classic like their variety of Sizzlers. The variety of food and dishes, in fact, is not limited to Sizzlers only. Although Sizzlers is a specialty here yet other dishes in the main course and starters are no less than those in taste, presentation, or preparation. That is probably one of the key reasons of them having a good number of guests all the time on both the floors.
Now, a couple of points of improvement for Gola Sizzlers Connaught Place. Whenever guests vacate a table it is important for the staff to make it presentable and pleasing for the next guests. Like in our case, some leftover small pieces on the sofa and a used napkin on one of the chairs were taken care of after we pointed it out when offered that table. That raises a concern and is important to make a point. Otherwise, service is prompt, staff is polite and someone from the management to ensure everything goes right for all guests and orders.
Finally, we had Veg Tandoori Momos. We got 4 jumbo momos in a well-presented form and those were very tasty having a good mix of veg fillings. It was much better than my previous experience of a similar dish in one of the restaurants around that had only cabbage filling in it.
Imagine a set of 4 big size momos filled only with mashed cabbage. It would be making it too dry to gulp and monotonous in taste. But luckily that was not the case at Gola Sizzlers Connaught Place. Now, as usual, and basis our Indian tradition, every meal has to end a dessert or rather a couple of desserts in our case. So we had Ice Cream Sizzler and Kulfi. The Sizzler is good in taste but somehow I didn’t like the burning smell and dense fumes of chocolate though that disturb just for a while. Kulfi is neatly wrapped in a cover and quite tasty. Overall, it was a very nice food journey...
Read moreGola sizzler has come a long way from the past in our city. I think they were the first ones to introduce the concept of sizzlers in the country. I remember eating the Sizzlers once or twice during my early childhood years and it was not only tasty but a lavish experience that I recount.
Invited for a late lunch scene in this humble place amidst the business part of the city, it was nostalgia all over. The place still hasn't lost it's old world charm a bit even when the furnishings have been altered over the times. The big modern clock has been placed appropriately facing opposite the entrance door probably highlighting the change of times. Decor is semi plush but the glass chandeliers on the ground floor are extremely modern. The small mezzanine has been added to entertain small groups or host kitty parties but completely different to the ground floor.
We ordered for a no. of mocktails and a range of appetizers. While Non Veg items included fish platter, fish Orly, Chicken Crispy, chilli chicken, Chicken Platter & Kali Mirch Chicken Veg had vegetable seekh kebabs, Aloo Bharwa,& Soya Chaap . I had a mixed Berry Mocktail that was just about better than average but I really rejoiced on the flavors of Fish Platter. It included silken fish Orly, some chilli fish & crispy fish balls. All were droolworthy and extremely tasty with mayo sauce that was served as a condiment. Vegetarians engorged on the Aloo Bharwa & Soya Chaap that were full invigorating flavors. Another Mocktail that really was better than others was the Mixed fruit cooler that almost matched the taste of a non alcoholic Sangria.
We were really looking ahead to the Sizzlers by now all set and ready to hear and see the talk of the Town since ages. The 2 in 1 Sizzler containing the chicken breast topped with whole mushrooms sauce served on the hot pan with a layer of different veggies like - baby corn, sweet corn kernels, beans, peas and broccoli. The chicken was really soft and cooked well before it was dipped the mushroom sauce. The sauce was not as creamy but it wasn't too bad either. Another one worth emulating was the Chicken breast Sizzler that had a sauce which was a thinner version of the butter chicken gravy and accompanied with same bed of veggies as highlighted above. The Veggie guys had the Cheese Cutlet Sizzler which was also worthwhile with Steaks of paneer cutlets topped with a Paneer Tikka. While the cutlet was accompanied by a mixed sauce pasta sauce the Non Veg sizzler had Potato mash & Garlic bread along with it. These sizzlers as expected were at their best and totally scrumptious.
I tasted a bit if main course which was the Dal makhni & Paneer lababdar with a piece of tandoori roti and it was a good deal too. For.dessert we had the ice cream sizzler which was again a piece of glory and can't be missed at all!!! Three big scoops of Vanilla ice cream with hot Brownie , nuts and oodles.of Hot & sizzling chocolate suace!!! What else does anybody want!!! As expected, it was gone no time at all!!!
Overall service is above average but the food knowledge is pretty good. This place is surely recommend to all as one of the key places to have Sizzlers in our town as well as from...
