A Frothy Affair at Ministry of Beer, Connaught Place
When it comes to exploring Delhi’s buzzing food and drink scene, I never miss an opportunity to dive into a place that stands out. Recently, I found myself at Ministry of Beer (MOB) in Connaught Place, a destination that needs no introduction among beer lovers. Opened in 2016, this was Delhi’s first microbrewery, and since then, it has consistently been a go-to spot for craft beer enthusiasts.
The Vibe at MOB
Spread across multiple floors with seating on the ground, first, and second levels, MOB takes your experience up a notch with its terrace and mezzanine areas. The interiors are industrial-chic with quirky lighting, exposed brick walls, and a vibrant atmosphere that immediately sets the mood. Whether you’re here with friends or flying solo, there’s a corner for everyone.
The Beers that Brew the Magic
Of course, the highlight of any visit here is their craft beer selection. From the crisp Indian Pale Ale to the smooth Hefeweizen, there’s something for every palate. I also tried their unique Jaggery Ale, bold Coffee Stout, and the light, refreshing Belgian Blonde.
The experience was made even more memorable with their signature beer sampler, served on a wooden map of Delhi. It’s not just a treat for your taste buds but also for your Instagram feed! Each brew tells a story, and I couldn’t help but marvel at the creativity that goes into crafting these beers.
The Food to Match
While the beer is undoubtedly the hero here, the food menu deserves a round of applause too. I started with the Lemon Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers, which were perfectly tender, zesty, and packed with flavors. The hint of garlic and parmesan balanced the citrusy notes beautifully, making it an ideal appetizer to pair with beer.
For the mains, I opted for the Lamb Chops Bunny Chow, a hearty and indulgent dish that left me thoroughly impressed. The lamb was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were rich and comforting. It paired wonderfully with the Coffee Stout, bringing out the smoky undertones of the dish.
Final Thoughts
Ministry of Beer in Connaught Place is more than just a microbrewery; it’s an experience that celebrates the art of brewing and culinary excellence. The combination of great craft beers, flavorful food, and an electric atmosphere makes it a place worth revisiting.
If you haven’t been here yet, I highly recommend taking a trip soon. Trust me, once you’ve experienced their beer sampler and dishes like the Lamb Chops Bunny Chow, MOB will find a permanent spot on your list of favorite hangouts. Cheers to good vibes and even...
Read moreWent to Ministry of Beer CP for the 1st time. We were a group of 4 friends. Made reservations through dineout. There is hardly any place to sit in thr ground floor plus the AC wasn't working. They had us go to the 1st floor where again the AC wasn't working properly. Then we were asked to go to the 2nd floor. Stairs are of wrought iron & quite unsafe & dangerous. Especially In heels you really need to be careful. 2nd floor is quite cramped as well. It was a,weekday evening. They had us change the seating twice in the middle. There is a common single washroom, which is again an issue. There is a lot of waiting. The server was not good was rude & the manager ddnt seem to be bother pretty much. No water was served until asked for later. They will keep looking at you, staring if you arent ordering drinks. When we asked for an imported wine from the menu, it wasn't available & then he said he ddnt want to open a fresh bottle. Wanted to give us an open domestic wine instead. There is a network issue in paying online. Data doesn't work, either you use their wifi or go on the ground floor. There was decent live music but too loud because the seating area is quite small. No smoking area earmarked so u feel uncomfortable too. If you request them to lower down the normal music they refuse. You just cant talk. The only upside was food, which tasted decent. Some new variations like charcoal kebab, pizza, a different style of spring rolls were good. We again went on 17th November and got to sit on the same seat on the 2nd floor. It was supposed to be Sufi night but the singer was hardly singing any Sufi songs and it wasn’t good either. Too loud too. They have substantially reduced the portion size of their starters and appetizers. Pizza was good. Dahi kebab were just 4 pieces in rs 500 plus taxes. We were 5 so we cudnt get one each. Soya chaap was decent and soft. Paneer chilli was ok. They serve crafted beer. We took the light beer with 4.5% alcohol. It was good. For the main course we had lachha parantha, tandoori roti, dal tadka & paneer. Dal was good. Ground floor they have an open seating in the back where there is very light or no music so you can talk with each other. Washroom on the 2nd floor is common for both men and women. So you have to wait. It wasn’t even clean yesterday. You scan the menu and it opens up on WhatsApp. The lounge bar is available on Swiggy Dineout for a 25% upfront discount or a 30% discount on prebooked deal but in prebooked they give only lunch slots. Read moreA Top-Tier Brewpub Experience in the Heart of CP! My visit to Ministry of Beer (MOB) in Connaught Place turned out to be one of the most enjoyable nights I’ve had in Delhi. If you’re looking for a place that effortlessly combines excellent craft beer, stylish interiors, great food, and an upbeat vibe this is it.
🍺 Ambience & Decor:
The first thing that strikes you is the grandeur of the place. MOB has an industrial-steampunk-inspired décor that makes it stand out think exposed pipes, warm lighting, high ceilings, and a cool, almost sci-fi meets brewery vibe. Whether you’re sitting indoors surrounded by edgy wall art or enjoying the open terrace with a view of the CP skyline, the atmosphere is electric but still comfortable.
🍻 Craft Beer & Drinks:
This place is heaven for beer lovers. They offer a great variety of in-house craft beers, each brewed with distinct flavor profiles. The Belgian Wheat and Apple Cider Ale were my personal favorites smooth, refreshing, and perfectly chilled. They also have a full bar stocked with spirits, cocktails, and mocktails for non-beer drinkers. The bartenders really know their craft and were happy to offer suggestions based on our preferences.
🍴 Food Quality:
MOB goes beyond the typical bar snacks. The multi-cuisine menu features a mix of Indian, Continental, and Asian dishes, all beautifully plated and full of flavor. We ordered the Butter Chicken Pizza, Crispy Corn, and Peri Peri Chicken Skewers each one was fresh, well-seasoned, and served hot. The portion sizes were generous too, making it perfect for sharing with a group.
🎶 Music & Vibe:
With upbeat music, occasional live performances, and a fun crowd, the energy here is infectious. It’s perfect for a night out with friends, a casual date, or even a small celebration. Despite being a popular spot, the service was surprisingly quick and attentive.
🧑🍳 Service & Hygiene:
The staff was extremely courteous, well-trained, and prompt with service. The hygiene levels were commendable tables were cleaned regularly, restrooms were well-maintained, and everything was orderly even during peak hours.
Overall Verdict: Ministry of Beer CP nails it on every front ambiance, drinks, food, service, and overall vibe. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or just someone looking for a good time in one of Delhi’s most iconic neighborhoods, MOB should be at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be...
