Okay so let me clarify it first i went here because Barbeque Nation was completely sold out & there was no chance of waiting for hours & then getting a table,so we tried our luck here & luckily around 2:50 PM we got a table here without waiting our buffet started with chaat papdi, dimsums both veg & non veg they were very bland, pizza both veg and non veg there was no difference between both as both were filled with onions & the non-veg one had no chicken at all, then came cajun potato it was nice, there were no mushrooms, paneer tikka was okayish little bland, aloo tikki was perfect,Mutton chapli kebab was MIND BLOWING i regret not eating more of it,chicken wings were fine nothing special, didn't try chicken barra but it looked delicious, pineapple was nice, crispy corn were perfect, now main course i tried buttrr chicken, dal makhani, malai kofta, pindi chole, butter naan, pudina lachha paratha,papad(2 varieties), sprouts salad, noodles with manchurian, main course was fabulous & their desert section has so much variety trust me no matter how much you try you won't be able to try everything! I found a little plastic piece in dal makhani in my mouth, showed it to the server later 3 people including supervisor, manager & chef himself came & apologized for the bad experience & explained that it was a piece of Cream packet used in dal makhani the way they handled the situation was perfect unlike absolute barbeque & Barbeque Nation they don't give complimentary beverage in lunch so i ordered their masala coke bunta it was very nice but you can only enjoy ¾th of it as the rest is full of spices & it'll make you puke, also i ordered their Virgin mojito it was okay nothing special my bill came to ₹2412 for 1 veg buffet,1 Non veg buffet,1 masala coke and 1 Virgin mojito i found it a little Expensive as if my bill would've came under ₹2000 even if ₹1990 i would be satisfied & compared to other Buffets like pirates of grill, barbeque nation, absolute barbeque & K3 JW Marriott i would rank #1-K3,#2-BN,#3-PoG,#4-AB & #5-GT road,i would say Absolute barbeque & Gt Road Share the spot for #4 but my Bill for 2 comes around ₹1200 at absolute barbeque literally half of ₹2412 at GT road so... overall it was a nice experience i would suggest it for joint Family dinners & Kitty parties, the place is very lively and cheerful ,staff is very polite and helpful trust me they won't say no to any of your request & one thing i would like to add is for sake of being safe i called to make a reservation for 2 at 2:30PM here around 1 PM & the person on the call said sir the place is sold out & there's no chance of you having lunch today but still we tried at 2:45-50PM & they gave us a table without waiting & there were few tables vacant too idk if the place doesn't want people to eat there or what the management should look into the issue & resolve it the least i expected was that they would've given me a call to alert that there's a...
Read moreBest place to enjoy your food with your family. This restaurant is located in heart of the city . The ambience and service was great . They have huge variety of items and every single dish was awesome 👏 Be careful even if they will tell you that the food is not spicy. Don't trust the waiting staff for this. Food was great, prawns skewers top die for, great Indian food with big variety. Desserts are not good so just ignore them. This is an interesting take on the traditional "all you can eat buffet". You select either meat or vegetarian and before you have settled in, they start bringing up starter after starter after starter. Most of it is really tasty with just the odd miss. Once you are completely full you are permitted to move on to the mains (only joking but you do get a lot of food!). You can choose from three curries with either rice, fresh breads or both. There doesn't seem to be any restriction and you can keep sampling as many of the curries as you desire. You can then move onto sweets of which there are so many choices. Personally I found them all sickly sweet and not to my taste.
On the night we had BOGOF on beer which was great value. So two buffet meals with two beers each came to 3390 RS or around £37. Not bad for what we had.
The food is good quality for a buffet though obviously not as good as some of the specialist restaurants we tried in Dehli. A core buffet style restaurant with an amazing elegant ambiance. The prices are also very pocket friendly, When we entered the restaurant it was fully packed which showed the beauty of the restaurant.
The amount of starers they are serving is just amazing! If we talk about the taste each thing I tasted from beginning to the end which was desserts everything little thing was really good. This place was great .. full of Indian atmosphere .. basically they start of by bringing a barbecue tray to your table (submerged in a hole in the middle) and then bring part cooked kebabs (chicken fish and prawns) which you then cook yourself ... they also continue to bring all kinds of appetisers and then you can go to the buffet at the back of the restaurant where there is an abundance of curries, vegetable dishes/sides, breads and desserts .. drinks including some cocktails are on a two for one basis ..
The cost for the two of us was less than 1750 rupees each which is a bargain and great value ..
The staff don’t speak much English and this confused us at the beginning as we didn’t really understand the whole ‘starter versus buffet set up .. but we left there stuffed and our appetites well and truly sated !
Really recommend this
Lots of locals and families there too .. which is always a good sign .. just off Connaught place on grand trunk road .. (obviously the name gives it’s...
Read moreMy experience was really good. We 3 people went there. Per person it costs around 850 in afternoon. Now details:
Pros:
Very good varieties in chaat and starters.
palak patta chat was exceptional.
I have tasted prawns of barbeque nation and those were really bad but at gt road they were awesome.
Very good waiters. They were so considerate that while taking one plate of desserts my, I said to my sister that after this we will eat jalebi with rabri and to my surprise the jalebi with rabri was served at table after few mins. One of the waiters overheard us and bought it on table without our request.
When chef asked us that if the food was ok, my sister complained that there was no shahi paneer. Even though the dish wasn't on menu, the chef took the liberty to prepare it specially. We didn't even request him for that. He just made it in 15 mins and presented on the table with fresh butter rotis.
Best dishes which deserves heads up: Roasted thigh piece, prawns, palak patta chaat, gulab jamun with vanilla ice cream, paan kulfi, brownie with chocolate syrup, butter chicken and that fish from starters.
Lastly loved the vintage ambience.
Cons:
One dish that is crispy corn which is usually the highlight of every buffet wasn't that impressive.
The cajun spiced potato of barbeque nation beats GT road's Salsa potato.
There are lots of options in starters but very less options in main course.
Very less options in bread. There was nothing special. Just butter roti or one or two other. There has to be stuffed naan and rumali rotis.
Just to increase number of dishes there were some useless things as well. For example, jelly in desserts... Like the worst tasting jelly of my life.
Shahi paneer missing from main course was real let down, although chef made it on special request.
Vintage ambience impressed us but cmon ws go there for food and we need to see the food. The taste is not in the material. Things like presentation and texture of food is responsible for 20 percent of the taste so need more bright lights.
The free drinks offered were not good. Its just coke or lemon soda. Its like they are forcing use to take in some carbonic acid in so that are stomach is full of co2 when we eat making us eat less. So not good. Need to have more options on free drinks like mojito, ice tea, etc.
Conclusion::
I have mentioned a lots of cons but still given rating of 5 because the restaurant deserves it. We go there for good and the food was awesome and service is the second thing we go for in a reputed restaurant and that was top notch. There are some neg point but those can be ignored and it is still tbe best buffet restaurant in Delhi and I recommend it...
