Mount Fuji Restaurant in Delhi is the best place to have Japanese Food , and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Every time I'm in Delhi, I make sure I visit this place for my dinner. This hidden gem transported me to the heart of Japan with its incredible Japanese cuisine, authentic taste, and impeccable presentation. From the moment I stepped inside, the restaurant's ambiance exuded an elegant yet cozy Japanese charm. The traditional decor, soothing music, and attentive staff set the perfect stage for a memorable dining experience. Now, onto the star of the show – the food. Fuji Restaurant truly excels in delivering the essence of Japanese cuisine. The menu offers a wide array of dishes, from sushi and sashimi to tempura and ramen, catering to both sushi connoisseurs and those looking to explore the diverse flavors of Japan. The sushi was a highlight of my meal. Each piece was a work of art, showcasing the freshest fish and perfectly seasoned rice. The delicate balance of flavors and textures was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authenticity. The sashimi was equally impressive, with the translucent slices of fish practically melting in my mouth. It was a pure celebration of the ocean's bounty. The tempura was light and crispy, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality ingredients and perfecting the art of frying. And let's not forget the ramen, a bowl of comfort and flavor. The rich, steaming broth was a symphony of umami, and the noodles had the ideal texture. Presentation at Fuji Restaurant is taken seriously. Every dish arrived at the table like a work of art, beautifully arranged on exquisite Japanese tableware. It's not just a meal; it's a visual delight. Fuji Restaurant in Delhi is a haven for Japanese food enthusiasts and anyone seeking an authentic culinary journey to Japan. With impeccable taste, presentation, and a warm ambiance, it's a must-visit for those looking to savor the flavors of Japan in the heart of Delhi

Sorry to say but the restaurant did not live upto our expectations. My sister n I were eager to try Japanese food n pinned down on Fuji based on the avg ratings/feedbacks given on Google Review. But it was a major let down. Not only the food portions were insufficient (for the price charged) but the service was very slow as well. They routinely forgot to serve us basic needs like water or extra bowls. We had to specifically ask for water. And when the waitress did so, she served only one glass. I had to specifically ask for one more. Don't they serve water in Japanese restaurants? Being new to Japanese cuisine we requested the guy taking our orders to help us with the menu. But he himself seemed lost and didn't seem very knowledgeable abt the cuisine. Ended up ordering a kind of rice beer we didn't want - I think he didn't understand our requirement. We eventually selected a platter n before ordering, specifically asked if it would be sufficient for two persons. But the portions were a major let down. Some vegetables sauté n salad, small bowl of rice, soup n sushi.. all in very small portions. This is India come on n your food must fill your guests' tummy for worth its price. The rice beer we ordered somehow filled our stomachs! Kind of the situation when your tummy feels filled after drinking water but that's not real eating. We refrained from ordering anything further due to the slow service. Neither we got the "Japanese experience" mentioned by so many reviewers nor the exalted service. Overall, a very lackadaisical attitude from the staff and over priced food for the portions served. The whole “dinner” cost us around 5000/- (Don’t remember the exact figures but near about) And to come out hungry & unsatiated because the portions were so miserly was a major let down. I don’t think Japanese ppl also eat this less. To add to the woes, the service was so lousy the servers were reluctant to serve even water. Would not recommend this overpriced restaurant with bad food and terrible service.

Yet another update: Went again yesterday, and realised that the weekend is not the best time for a visit. Half an hour waiting despite reserving a table, and upon returning home, realised that an item I hadn't ordered had been surreptitiously added to the bill. This visit left such a bad taste in the mouth Update: Visited again after a little over a year. This time we sat on the other side which has sunken seats so you can either sit cross-legged or put your legs down into the pit. Food was as delicious as ever. Tried the baos for the first time and they were made to perfection. 1st review:Connaught Place is the restaurant capital of Delhi and one is really spoilt for choice. But after having tried out Mt.Fuji, I daresay it's become my first choice for fine dining in CP. We, a party of three, were led to one of the little seating alcoves on the ground floor and presented with three menus. It took us a bit of time to realise these were there different menus, a bar menu, a Japanese menu and a pan asian menu. The hostess was kind enough to help us with our order, and the dishes came through without much delay. We ordered a shrimp sushi, ramen and a Korean hot stone bowl. Each of them had a different and unique flavour of their own, and polished off in no time. We were reluctant to leave after such a sumptuous feast and so ordered another hot stone bowl to go. Mount Fuji was a great experience.. We even ended up having some fusion thrown in for free since the customers in the next alcove were inspired by the food to break out into a Hindi film song

If you have visited this place before covid, you will be very disappointed with current Fuji. It has lost its vibe and authenticity. Talking about food, firstly, the options are decreased and menu seemed repetitive. We ordered our all time favourites miso ramen, shrimp tempura maki, grilled salmon and some beverages. Miso Ramen - Lost all of its authenticity, It seemed more like ramen which you will find in fast food chains. Earlier they used hand made udon noodles but now they are just using low quality spaghetti noodles. Toppings decreased in quantity and quality. Totally missed the old taste. Shrimp tempura maki - This was better than other dishes, however, it also lost its authentic Japanese touch when chef decided to top it with cheese and mayonnaise (probably tandoori mayo), Though it tasted fine enough. Grilled salmon - Please don’t order this. It didn't tasted, felt or looked like salmon. It didn’t have the signature salmony colour, texture or taste. Topping it all, this was the worst preparation and garnish that I have ever seen, Oh and the most expensive one. I have a gut feeling that it wasn’t salmon at all. Beverages - All beverages were good with adequate serving. Also, if you want to have Saké then you might be disappointed as we couldn’t find a single serve in the menu but whole bottles. Prices - Prices are similar to earlier prices but the serving size, options, quality, flavours, basically everything has declined so, now it feels overpriced. Summing it up, I would not recommend this place anymore as the it has lost its authentic Japanese vibe...
