If you are looking for a family restaurant accommodating of children and elderly, this is absolutely NOT the place. After reserving a table for 5 we were given a table for 4, showing how the staff disregards the customer. When asking for a different table they suggested we join a table, that too they wanted us to join it and the staff were uncourteous to fix it for us. After multiple times asking to join the table we requested to order. While ordering they purposefully misheard what we were saying and told us we weren’t allowed to order a certain dish as it was too “oily” for us to eat. Once showing we had no interest in ordering alcohol they acted ignorant, not caring at all for what we were saying. I can’t say much about the food as we were so disgusted by the staff’s attitude and the restaurant’s atmosphere that we left before we finished the order. This is a restaurant and bar which only focuses on the bar and will not blink an eye if you wish to order otherwise. These are the times when I wish google had the option for...
Read moreWe went for a mid week dinner to this restaurant. With Delhi weather at its best, we opted to sit outside. Unfortunately, we opted for the far end, I suggest not to do that as you are subjecting to jarring music from the neighbouring restaurant/pub which clearly lacks taste ( the music).
The service was very nice, we ordered a bottle of wine, the waiters have been trained on how to serve wine. My last experience with Delhi restaurant and wine bottles was a nightmare!
The food - I highly highly recommend trying their veg food. As a norm, I eat veg food in the interest of good health, but given a choice, its Non Veg all the way.
However, this restaurant has an amazing veg food. We tried both veg and non veg starters, dumplings, sushi. I must say its the veg ones which surprised me. The star being - zucchini yam galouti kabab. After having that, I was like who needs mutton!
The food is expensive .. but the food and service make it easier to justify the...
Read moreThe food menu at Plate isn’t extensive, but it covers several cuisines. There is sushi, there are baos and dimsums; Thai curries; Mediterranean dishes; fish and chips, pizzas, and several Indian dishes. Basically, something for everybody. We ordered a chicken katsu sushi to start with, and followed it up with two mains: a Turkish roast lamb (served in a lovely spicy gravy, along with mash, flatbreads, grilled vegetables, and two kinds of dip) and a grilled fish, served with a lemon and caper sauce, roasted baby potatoes and green beans. To drink, my daughter ordered a peach passionfruit lemonade, which was deliciously tangy and refreshing.
The food was very tasty, the service was good. Definitely...
