As a food enthusiast, I'm always excited to try new restaurants and share my experiences with others. However, my recent visit to Smoke House Deli, located at Dlf Promenade Mall in Vasant Kunj, was far from the pleasurable dining experiences I've come to expect. In the interest of transparency, I must share that my time there was filled with disappointment and frustration.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was taken aback by the unappealing aesthetics and congested atmosphere. The AC was not functioning, which only exacerbated the discomfort of the already sweltering heat. This unpleasant ambiance set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.

The culinary offerings were equally disappointing. I opted for the peri peri chicken, expecting a delectable and satisfying dish. Instead, I was met with an expensive, meager portion that failed to impress in both flavor and presentation.

To make matters worse, I had to endure an excruciatingly long wait for my meal, which took nearly an hour to arrive. The delay soured my mood and left me wondering how a restaurant could let a customer languish for so long without any explanation or apology.

Sadly, the service was not much better than the food or ambiance. My repeated requests for assistance went ignored, and I noticed that other diners who arrived after me were being served before I was. This lack of attention and care left me feeling disregarded and undervalued as a customer.

When I finally expressed my frustration to one of the servers and informed them that I would be writing an online review, they showed no concern or remorse for their actions. Instead, they continued to behave shamelessly, demonstrating an appalling lack of respect for their customers and their hard-earned money.

In conclusion, my visit to Smoke House Deli at Dlf Promenade Mall in Vasant Kunj was a thoroughly disheartening experience. I urge potential patrons to consider alternative dining options in the area, as there are many other establishments that will provide better value for your time and money. The subpar food, inhospitable environment, and unsatisfactory service at Smoke House Deli should serve as a warning to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience. Let's show them the power of online reviews and hold them accountable for their arrogance and disrespect. Please spare yourself and your family the frustration, and avoid this restaurant...

So we booked a table at 1 pm for 2 pm and had a chat with a guy called AMAR, he confirmed the booking. At 1:58 pm we reached the restaurant and had a chat with the manager(so called), he asked us to wait for another 15-20 mins. He also said that it was the upper limit and he will give us the table before that. We again reached the place at 2:25, and he again said that we will have to wait for the 20 mins. That is not how it works. We called AMAR and had a chat with the manager and waited for another 10 mins. During this time, he was letting other people go who booked after us. There was absolutely no one who was ready to listen. And what do we say about the so called "manager", I think he should start listening before committing anything. Also, my dad wanted to say that he wasnt selling anything which was as good as heaven and the MANAGER made a big deal of it and denied to give us the table. He threatened us by saying that he will call the cops as we were angry ( i think we deserved that ). I would just like to say that go on your own risk and dont ever try to have a conversation with the manager as he is not someone who will try to listen to you. You can also get cops on yourself so dont be afraid because i am very sure that customer wont be at fault after waiting for 35-40 mins. Finally, if the manager is reading, I would like to say that you have my number and no cops approached me. (HAHA). If someone from smoke house deli is reading then start treating your customers seriously because 1 customer wont be a big deal but in future you can lose many more customers. I hope you take it with a bit of dignity and courtesy. Try to improve. and LISTEN.

PS. My biggest mistake was not asking the name of the MANAGER.

I am writing to raise a serious food safety concern that occurred during my visit to Smoke House Deli at Promenade Mall, Vasant Kunj, on 13th September 2025.

I had ordered the Mediterranean Vegetable Tahini Sandwich, and to my shock, discovered a piece of microplastic embedded within the food. This is not only unhygienic—it is a critical health hazard. Microplastics are known to cause long-term health complications, and their presence in food served by an established restaurant is utterly unacceptable.

Upon bringing this to the attention of the staff, the head chef responded promptly and apologized. Following this, both the manager and a corporate representative arrived to address the issue. They expressed regret and, as a gesture, offered to waive the charges for the meal. While I appreciate their willingness to acknowledge the problem, I insisted on paying and it was paid, as my concern was not financial, it was about accountability and food safety.

It is extremely alarming that such a reputed brand lacks adequate quality checks in its kitchen operations. Incidents like these point to serious lapses in internal hygiene protocols and quality control systems. If this is what is being served in a high-visibility outlet, one can only imagine the standards across other locations.

This experience has not only eroded my trust in the brand, but also raised genuine concerns for public health. I urge the management to take this matter with the seriousness it warrants, conduct a full investigation, and implement stricter food safety procedures immediately.

Until then, I would strongly advise others especially families with children or individuals with health sensitivities, to avoid dining at this establishment.
