I am actually quite sad to be giving Smokeys a 3 star here. The food was 5 star, the kitchen staff produced what must be the tastiest chicken burgers I have ever had - that being the pulled buffalo chicken burger and the six chillies burger. The pizzas were also well crafted and beautifully spiced. The service was 2 stars and was inexcusable. The table still had food dirt from the previous guests. My napkin had stains on it, making me wonder that it was either not changed, or, Smokeys just does a terrible job of cleaning their napkins. On a table of 5, only 1 order was taken before the waiter ran off and returned 15 minutes later to take the rest. The food was not brought together. When the food was served, the staff did not know what they were bringing and for whom. That is very worrying that Smokeys own staff don't know which pizza is which or which burger is which. We asked for boiling water, this was served late, so it became cold. We asked for a new cup of boiling water, which was received with a bug in it. Too many things were wrong with the service, and ultimately I blame the management more than I blame the staff. If they were understaffed, which it appears that they were, management should have blocked certain tables. Management is responsible for training staff. On the positive front, the menu is true to US style barbecue menus, a fantastic menus, which importantly has an Indian twist or flavour to all dishes. The menu is very well thought out and the kitchen staff served outstanding, fresh, hot, food, I was also pleased to see Chipotle sauce on the table. I would like to return to Smokeys however I hope that before I do, restaurant management does something about the service, because once resolved, this is a 5...
Read moreI heard a lot about their burgers and was looking forward to have them. Being a veggies, I ordered the first menu item i.e. green veggie burger that after tax costs roughly 550 bucks. It comes with complimentary fries, salad and beans. While the fries were of decent portion size , in the name of salad they gave 3 leaves of lettuce and in the name of beans, they gave me two spoons of cooked beans. Coming back to burger, I was disappointed with the taste of it. It had a green Patty inside it tasting like a mix of potato and green peas. It was not worth the price. I had burgers at carls junior that was way better than smokeys in terms of bun, Patty and sauces. Even Mexican Patty sub at subways is better than this. My friend ordered lamb burger that should come with fried egg, but they forget to keep it. When we told them abt the missing egg , the person remained quiet and did not say anything like we have asked an out of syllabus question. We asked to talk to chef, but he remained quiet. Later on they told us that they forgot to ask if we want egg or not and gave a 15 % disc on the meal as a way of compensating. Even if I don't consider the casual style of the management and choose to ignore it, there is no point shelling out 600 rupees on a burger that is way less in taste than a 125 rupees sub or a 200 rupees Carl junior or identical in taste to the 180 rupees Burger King veg whooper. Avoid going to this place. Also, just to clear, my friend was also highly disappointed with the taste of his non veg burger. You can try and visit their greater kalish and cyber hub locations..I have heard that the food quality is better there..but please avoid Khan...
Read moreSmokey's BBQ and Grill is a friendly and casual dining restaurant. It is one of those places that will make you feel very cosy probably because of the brick and wood interiors. They have two floors first and the second and the second floor has an attached al-fresco seating too. They have recently updated their menu and added a lot of Italian delicacies. In cocktails I tried the Smokey's Mandarin Ale which was a concoction of fresh mandarin, basil, ginger ale with absolut vodka. This came in a flask and had a lot of smokey effect on opening the flask. Started off our meal with Chicken Farcha. This was a bang on flavors and was served with parsleymayo. Then we had lamb and bacom burger and bacon wrapped pork hotdog. The burgers and the hotdogs just cannot be missed here. The patty of the burger was very juicy and succulent. Also the size of both the dishes were huge. From the new menu we tried the prawn pickled ravioli. Small pieces of ravioli in it were minced prawns. Had a tangy creamy flavor to it and this dish is highly recommended for prawn lovers. In desserts we went with apple crumble pie and banoffie pie. While apple crumble pie is my favourite dessert, crumble toppings are my favourite. The crumble toppings had cinnamon, sugar, flour, butter and was sinfully delicious. Place is a must visit for all those who like...
