Sea Gulls Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Puducherry

I never rate places so low, but my experience here could not have been worse. We entered the restaurant around 3:30 PM on a Sunday (12th March 2017). On entering the waiter in charge said the place is closed from 4 to 5PM for cleaning and asked us to leave. We asked if we could grab a couple of beers since it was only 3:30 PM. He blatantly refused and post an argument allowed us to buy the beer directly from the bar and pay the bill on the spot. We also ordered some onion pakoda directly from there as well. Once we sat and started having our food, few foreigners entered the place at around 4, they just sat and after a few minutes the waiter came to take their order. Pathetic situation considering we were almost kicked saying the place was closed and now they are still serving people few minutes later. On top of this, the waiter came again saying our bill was wrong and we had to pay around 450/- rupees extra. The place has a view, but very poor service and the beer is super costly considering you are in Pondicherry. Budweiser magnum at 220/- where the MRP is at 100. Would never recommend going...

It was a random selection for this bar cum restaurant. We were on the beach and hence saw this place. Though it is not much appealing by its look but somehow the rooftop pulled me in. Not much about the ambiance but the view from this place is awesome. The evenings can be nice here with friends or the loved ones. Though beer varieties are mentioned in the card but they have hardly few options available. We chose * Budweiser Strong. For food we ordered * Chilli Fish Dry. It was yummy and fish was very soft and fresh. Garlic Chicken Dry. It was average. Prawn Fried rice. It was blant . Appropriate spices were not added. Overall I had a nice time only for the view and sea breeze or else food is average. Renovation is really required for this place as chunks of concrete wall keeps on falling now and then which may cause harm anytime. Price is bit on the higher side. Rest it's fine to come for one...
