It was a 3 days trip to the city and on the last day, we (me and my spouse) planned to go for a whole body massage. We started researching to find out the best place to have a body massage and surprisingly none of the centres had a “all good” review. We stayed in Cours Chabrol hotel and had a small leaflet of Keralaa Ayurveda (Kerala with a double “a”) in our room. So, after the google and the other internet sites failed to gain our confidence, we tried to go with our hotel’s recommendation ( I mean in an indirect way!). I spoke to the concerned person in the spa and booked an appointment for both of us in the afternoon. To our surprise, they sent an auto to pick us from the hotel, which was around 1.5 km away. ||||We climbed the staircases and cursed ourselves for coming here as there was no lift in it. The spa was above the Kotak bank on the 2nd floor. ||||As we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed with a herbal drink, whose color was really beautiful. Within 5 mins, I was called to come in. In this spa, a Male associate massages a male customer and a female associate for a female. The room was really charming with a mild music . ||||By “whole body” massage they literally mean so!!! They didn’t hesitate in pouring enough oil while massaging. Later, I took bath with warm water . And when shared with my wife, I came to know, she too was happy after taking the body spa. The whole body massage costed us INR 1200/ person, which I think was a total “paisya wasool” thing, with a complimentary drop, back to our hotel.||||As we take massages often, so I can tell, the person who was massaging me was a pro to it!!! I am happy to be there and will surely ask you to visit the same, if you are in Pondi . ||||God...
Read moreI got into several issues during my visit: Compact room and not fit for a family of 2 Adults + 2 kids. While booking they said that they will give bigger room and during checkin they changed to the smaller one by telling that the bigger room reserved for us was being given to somebody else The bathroom was not having the exhaust fan and was suffocating The bedspreads and pillow covers were sandy and smelly They were fixing the terrace (fabrication work) and had to bear the miserable sound for two days, They didn’t help us inspite of repeated complaints about the noise Car parking is about 500 metres away from the property and had to walk each time under the burning temperature . The parking place is some warehouse area and pathetic place We booked the room in this hotel just because it was in right front of the rock beach, but later we noticed that all the sewage water being let into the beach which is very close to this property. The smell was stinking and could not get into the beach after watching it. We had to visit other beaches for kids sake. We had booked the room for 4 days (3 nights) and after experiencing above issues, we requested the front desk to cut short the duration by 1 day at least so that we can book some other hotel close to paradise beach (one of the best beaches) but they straight away declined our request (not ready to refund )
Later after writing them an email about these issues, their reply was just unconvincing (apology or gave their own reasons).
Earlier (before sewage water issue), it might have been a good one but not worth it now….waste of money and vacation time…
We had to shift to the promenade...
Read moreYou are visiting Pondicherry and want a good hotel with some amazing sea view rooms? Your search ends here. Cours Cahbrol is one of those hotels that you would easily pass off based on it's size but let me tell you this, you have no idea how amazing the sea facing rooms are.
Rooms: The hotel is right opposite to the rock beach and you would get that continuous harmonious sound of waves crashing against the black rocks if you take one of the sea facing rooms. During night time this is even more accentuated and you can easily sit in your balcony and enjoy the view and the sound. Do book well in advance as there are only handful of sea facing rooms. The rooms are very clean and are equipped with mini fridge and snacks. The only not so good thing about the rooms are the bathrooms which are a little old and worn out.
Dining: We had opted for the complimentary brekfast and the hotel F&B did an amazing job at the breakfast spread. They serve doughnuts which are absolutely delightful!!!
WiFi: The WiFi signal is strong and you will have no issues with connectivity at all.
Conveyance: Use Ola which works throughout the city or you can just walk a little distance((
