Nestled along the pristine shoreline, Seaside Delights offers a picturesque dining experience that beautifully combines the charm of beachside dining with a menu that delights the senses. My recent visit to this gem left me impressed and eager to return.
Ambiance: 5/5 Seaside Delights boasts an unbeatable location right on the beach. The sound of waves gently lapping the shore, coupled with the salty sea breeze, creates a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is particularly enchanting during sunset, with the horizon painted in hues of orange and pink. The interior is tastefully decorated with nautical themes, adding to the overall charm.
Service: 4/5 The service at Seaside Delights is commendable. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter was quick to recommend dishes and ensure our glasses were never empty. The only minor hiccup was a slight delay in bringing out one of our courses, but it was promptly addressed with a warm apology.
Food: 4/5 The menu at Seaside Delights features a variety of seafood options, as well as some delicious choices for those who prefer land-based dishes. The seafood paella was a standout, bursting with flavor and generously packed with fresh seafood. The grilled lobster was succulent and perfectly cooked, paired with a tangy lemon butter sauce. The tropical cocktails were refreshing, particularly the signature "Beach Breeze," which complemented the meal perfectly. The only slight letdown was the dessert; while the coconut flan was good, it didn't quite match the excellence of the main courses. Value: 4/5 Given its prime location and quality of food, Seaside Delights offers good value for money. Prices are on the higher side, which is expected for a beachside restaurant, but the portions are generous and the overall experience justifies the cost.
Overall: Seaside Delights is a wonderful spot for a relaxing meal with a view. It’s perfect for romantic dinners, family gatherings, or simply unwinding with friends. Despite a couple of minor issues, the exceptional ambiance and delicious food make it a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a beachside dining experience. Tips: Make a reservation for outdoor seating, especially during sunset. Try the seafood paella and the "Beach Breeze" cocktail. Be prepared for slightly higher prices, but the experience...
Read moreThe review on the bottom was my best experience while I visited SPOT 3 months back. But my recent visit was totally disappointing with the server, I think her name was Rajeswary. Since it was lent season I ordered for paneer rolls, fries and milk tea. It was a beautiful evening and we sat on the 1st floor facing the mighty Bay of Bengal. At first, she served the tea without sugar, they got me the milk and tea mixed together , so I asked her to get me extra milk becoz the tea was too strong. Normally they serve everything separate . I thought that was ok. Later she brought the paneer rolls and fries, it was very yummy but didn't serve any sauce to go with. So I asked for some ketch up . She didn't bother to bring me the sauce rather she ignored my call and was rearranging the table infront of us. Seems like she totally didn't like us sitting in that particular spot. She even came and asked if we could move from there since it was a table for 5 people I think. I said we will be done soon since i am having only tea and snacks. There was literally no one around us, and there was no Reservation sign on the table
I felt so humiliated.
I lost all my first best mpressions from the above incident.
I wish she learn some customer care classes from Ms Yamuna.
I pay exactly the same amount for the food what others pay right? No matter what color i have or costume I prefer.
Well SPOT TEAM, teach your staff how to behave . I travel all around the world, I'm from US . Never got such a bad treatment. My first review about 3 months back.
The best restaurant in town, they serve the actual french Cuisine. I ordered eggs Benedict with brioche, hollandaise sauce, grilled tomatoes and potato roesti. Eggs were so perfect that the yolk was oozing out like silk , potatoe roesti was very tasty, crispy outside perfectly cooked. We have ordered a combo of Rs. 450/- choice of tea or coffee, bread with home made jam, honey and butter. waffles were super good , crispy outside soft buttery inside with perfectly browned outer crust. Ms. Yamuna , the server was very helpful that she helped us through out our order. Peaceful ambience of beach. Only one negative remark that they won't let me use the upstairs sea view seating area....
Read moreLovely spot by the promenade. There's open air seating on the lawn as well as semi-indoors on the tall ceilinged verandahs and another large area - all on the ground floor.
The decor is casual, relaxed, contemporary. The service is excellent, from Damodaran who took my reservations to the servers. Dhasa took my drinks order and when I told him I didn't want my cocktail too sweet or too cold, he offered to bring me the alcohol and cranberry juice separately, as well as ice in an ice bucket. I have never experienced this kind of service for a drink order, super impressed! My Spot Island cocktail was a great mix of flavors and taste.
The veg nachos were home made - guacamole was okay. The tomato salsa was way too sweet and lacked flavor. The cheese sauce would be better off simply grated. The guacamole needed more flavor from garlic and cilantro. The jalapenos sprinkled on the nachos packed some heat - since this is a Villa Shanti restaurant, home made pickled local chillies would be a wonderfully authentic touch. The nachos were too greasy and some of them were a bit wilted. Baked corn flour nachos is what I'd expect from a restaurant at this level.
The summer salad was a very generous portion and a delicious blend of textures, flavors and taste - a welcome mix of local ingredients such as pineapple, coconut, fried onions. The overall taste was tad too sweet for my taste buds. Fish (snapper) and chips was quite an enormous portion and satisfying.
For dessert, tiramisu was good as was the chocolate sin - mousse and ganache. Again, large portions that could easily be shared by two people.
Halith and Chidananda were our very attentive servers and easy to talk to, making us feel at ease. I'm definitely planning on returning here to try more items from their menu with a range of selections, from pasta to street food.
A note to the managers-owners: The Spot website has major typos and grammatical mistakes.
Returned here in the daytime hoping to sit upstairs but they said it was unavailable. Very dissatisfied on this visit. My husband’s main course was served and he finished eating while my starter polenta dish - which I wanted as the main course - had over a 30 minute wait, AFTER he had...
