Alright, so I wandered into this unassuming little joint the other day, and let me tell you, the Amritsari kulcha they were whipping up was seriously on point. You know how sometimes it can be a bit soggy or the filling is bland? Not here. This was the real deal – crispy edges giving way to a fluffy inside packed with a flavorful potato mix. Each bite was just… satisfying. I could have easily devoured another one. But wait, there's more! I also tried their dal makhani, and oh man, that was a revelation. It was rich, velvety smooth, the kind of dal that coats your spoon and makes you want to savor every single mouthful. You could tell it had been simmering away for ages, all those flavors melding together perfectly. Honestly, it was some of the best dal makhani I've had in a while. The place itself was pretty laid-back, nothing fancy at all. It felt like the kind of spot where the focus is entirely on the food, and that's exactly what I'm looking for. The service was quick and friendly too, no complaints there. If you're ever in the mood for some seriously good, no-nonsense Amritsari kulcha and dal makhani that'll warm your soul, you should definitely check this place out. It's a low-key gem that definitely delivers on flavor. You won't be...
Read moreThe owner lacks business ethics significantly. The first mistake was giving the wrong order; the owner's response was in a Punjabi style, saying "koi nahi, it's ok." I didn't mind, as I was fine with whatever was served in the thali. The second mistake was the signature dish in the thali being excessively salty. When I mentioned it, the owner's initial reaction was again "koi nahi... it's ok." Even during payment, I reiterated the issue. Only then did the owner acknowledge the saltiness, but without offering any apologies.
It's remarkable how patrons tolerate such an attitude and still manage to make the dhaba a big hit with numerous positive reviews. Despite the owner's lack of business ethics and their nonchalant responses to mistakes, the place seems to thrive. The resilience of Puneri customers plays a significant role in this...
Read moreI recently had lunch at Amritsar Kulcha, which is close to our office. It’s a popular spot, so there’s usually a long wait to get a table during lunch hours. I’d recommend going a bit earlier, around 12:30, to avoid the rush.
We ordered half portions of paneer and aloo parathas, and the portions were quite large, so starting with half is a good idea. The parathas came with raita and sabji, and both were served piping hot and tasted delicious. The best part is, you can ask for more raita and sabji without any extra charge. We also tried the tandoori chaap, which was really enjoyable.
Though the seating is outdoors, sitting under the tree's shade was actually quite pleasant. Overall, a great spot for a hearty meal!
Edit : We still visit this place from time to time for lunch in between our breaks and it still tastes awesome....
