This 40+ year old place has been on my list for a long time. It is a nagpuri savji style hotel, bit more spicy than the rest of the hotels which has expertise in nonveg thalis.
Setup/Ambience: 3/5 Even with the small seating capacity of just 14 people, it has created a separate space in the customer's heart. Everything is centered around the food, so much that you have sit facing a wall which has a menu card. Only person you can talk to is seating besides you. The compartmentalization reminds me of net cafes of olden days, which further make the food experience private. All these eccentricities help you concentrate on food with no distractions. So even with the small capacity churning rate high. Also parcels were continuously being served.
Food: 4/5 I tried chicken fry and chicken curry. I liked curry more than the fry. To me fry is more like chicken masala with thick gravy. Rassa/curry is spicy with a tinge of sourness coming from tomatos. It is served extremely hot. Bhakri is big enough to make me full with just one. Omlette was good too.
Price: 3/5 Initially I was surprised to see chicken thali at Rs.250 But later on when I saw the bill, I realised that they have itemised billing. Usually at any other place extra rassa wati would be free, but here it charges @Rs.30. So overall thali would easily cost upwards of 450-500Rs based on your appetite. it is possible that I felt this as unusual because it was my first experience.
Overall, it was a good experience, as I prefer spicy food, I would definitely visit again soon to introduce it to...
Read moreHotel Nagpur is very small place located off Lane in Tilak road. Its very small place with limited seating and having pride in puneri style of "we have no branches anywhere".
All that is forgotten when you eat the food.. The ambience is more of khanawal or lets say cyber cafe style partitions but your focus is having great food you'll forget everything else.
Its speciality is saoji style of cooking food which is from Nagpur side hence the name. It's spicy red hot but yet tasty.. Main dishes are of mutton variety but you can order chicken too and it is equally good.. Mostly advisable to go during lunch time as they are open for short time and have lots of people waiting due very limited space. Lots of delivery order too.. It takes some time to get food. But once you get going.. It's one of best food trip.
Food is ofcourse spicy and oily.. Not for the faint hearted... Thalis have rassa dish and bhakri or chapati rice onions... Little costly but mostly compareable to similar restaurants..
Dont understand low ratings or bad...
