Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended Date: June 6, 2025 Time: 9:45 AM Location: Irani Cafe Bill No: 190 I had a very disappointing experience during my visit. I ordered two chicken cheese omelettes and butter toast. While the omelettes were served first, the toast arrived 10 minutes later. I ordered an additional butter toast, which took another 18 minutes to arrive. When I asked about the delay, I was told the toaster wasn’t working - something they could have informed me earlier. Meanwhile, the omelettes had gone cold, making the entire meal unappetizing. When I approached the person at the billing counter to raise the issue, I was shocked by his response. He dismissed my complaint by saying that the staff were new and acted as if it was acceptable for them to ruin a customer’s breakfast. Instead of acknowledging the issue or offering an apology, he ignored me completely - as if I hadn’t paid ₹900 for this experience. There was no sense of accountability or customer service. Sadly, it felt like I was being treated as if I was getting the meal for free, not as a paying customer. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. I certainly won’t be visiting again - even if it’s the last café open in town

Irani Cafe Delight: Top Marks for Chicken Kheema and Cutlets! This Irani cafe is a hidden gem! If you're looking for fantastically flavorful chicken dishes, look no further. Here's a breakdown of their must-tries: Chicken Kheema with Bun: Their kheema is a revelation. The minced chicken is perfectly spiced, offering a delightful balance of warmth and aromatics. It's likely packed with fragrant onions, ginger, garlic, and a blend of Indian spices. The bun, ideally soft and slightly sweet, provides the perfect contrast to the savory kheema. This is a winning combination! Chicken Cutlets: These cutlets are another star of the show. They're crispy on the outside, encasing juicy and flavorful minced chicken within. The meat is likely marinated for tender perfection and then coated in a crispy batter before being fried. Each bite is a satisfying blend of textures and tastes. Overall: This cafe excels at simple yet delicious fare. Their chicken kheema and cutlets are both highly recommended. You might even find yourself wanting to try both in one sitting! Just be sure to ask about their chutney or sauce options for dipping – they're likely the perfect complement to these delightful dishes.

Nice food with great ambiance and location. Irani Cafe in Camp is a Pune institution, and for good reason! This iconic cafe is a must-visit for its incredible ambience, rich history, and mouth-watering Parsi cuisine. The moment you step inside, you're transported to a bygone era. The charming decor, complete with vintage photographs and ornate furnishings, is a treat for the eyes. However, be prepared for a crowd, as this place is always bustling with activity! But the real stars of the show are the dishes, particularly the Bun Muska and Mutton Kheema. The Bun Muska is a masterclass in simplicity, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. And the Mutton Kheema? Absolutely divine! The tender meat, flavorful spices, and perfect texture will leave you craving more. The service, while sometimes slow due to the crowds, is warm and attentive. The staff are happy to recommend their signature dishes and share stories about the cafe's history. Overall, Irani Cafe is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the best of Parsi cuisine in Pune. Be prepared for a crowd, but trust me, it's worth the wait. Don't miss the Bun Muska and Mutton Kheema – your taste buds will thank you!

Ah well! This is typical joint that you encounter early mornings when no other restaurants are open. I usually visited this outlet in Camp at breakfast time. You'll see a lot of folks out for an early meeting or people who specially come here for breakfast or church-goers who are looking for non-vegetarian breakfast and want to skip the hassle of making breakfast at home after the sunday service. Food - Its nothing to write home about. Its the usual fare with the usual taste - mish-mash of masala with Kheema, the same chicken cutlets made of chicken paste, the same bun-maska where the bun dominates and maska is just a thin layer. Don't know why they are so stingy about the butter (they should visit the bakery opp. Pune railway station to see what maska is in the Bun-Maska ;-) ). Cheese bun omelette is good. Irani chai tastes the same in all their outlets. Black tea with Khajur is a welcome change from the regular chai. My pet gripe about these restaurants is that they don't serve PAV with any of their dishes. Its either Bread or Bun. I mean KHEEMA-BUN????? Anyway, I found this a good place to eat early morning when you are looking for a change.

Service - Service is fast once you are successful in attracting the staff's attention. They are attentive and quick. You may have to raise your volume to ensure they understand your order in the irritating din surrounding you. And don't expect any suggestions from them, their ultimate response is - The Menu. Also ensure you tell them that the food should be hot, I had to ask them to take the order away on three different occasions as the food was cold like death. Tables are usually clean, chairs uncomfortable, some have little iron-filings jutting out of the backrest due to the poor and cheap finishing. They may rip your shirt or tshirt or whatever you are wearing. I have seen one guy's beautiful formal shirt getting damaged by such chairs.

Overall a loud, noisy place typically full on weekend mornings. With Blue Nile just opposite, you can skip this and go there to enjoy a quiet atmosphere. Had there not been the "Irani Cafe" popularity and clamor, its just another restaurant. Supriya is about 150 meters away for tasty South Indian...

Irani Café in Pune is a charming establishment that reflects the rich culinary heritage of Iranian cafes in India. Here’s a detailed review of the place:

Ambiance

The café boasts a nostalgic, old-world charm with its vintage decor. The walls are adorned with photographs and memorabilia that evoke a sense of history. The seating is comfortable, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for both casual meals and long conversations.

Menu

The menu at Irani Café is a delightful blend of Persian and Indian influences. Key highlights include:

Breakfast Items: The café is known for its breakfast options, bun maska (buttered bread), and various types of eggs.

Beverages: The Irani chai is a must-try, rich and flavorful. The coffee options are also well-received.

Main Courses: Dishes like keema bun, masala bun omelette and a host of other dishes are popular, reflecting the café's heritage. They offer a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. One recommends sticking to Iranian dishes for best results.

Snacks: Irani cafés are famous for their puffs and other baked goods. The bakery is well stocked although we found the tiramisu pudding rather horrible. Even the veg omelette was basically a veg besan Pura that was messed up.

Service

The service is generally friendly and efficient, with staff that is knowledgeable about the menu. They are accommodating and often provide recommendations based on your preferences.

Pricing

The pricing is reasonable, making it accessible for a wide range of customers. Portion sizes are generous, ensuring good value for money.

Conclusion

Irani Café in Pune is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience that offers a glimpse into the rich culinary traditions. Whether you're stopping by for a quick chai or a leisurely meal, it’s a spot that invites you to linger and enjoy the ambiance. It’s highly recommended for anyone looking to explore unique flavors in a welcoming setting.
