La Magia, a newly opened restaurant located in the calm streets of Koregaon Park serves some authentic Italian food made with fresh ingredients. The Italian food that you'll come across most of the restaurants in India is the "Indian version" made with heavy cheese, it's oily and also pretty intense in terms of flavour but here at La Magia you'll get the experience of the traditional Italian food which is healthy, packs subtle flavours and at the same time is really delicious. The seating area is outdoors and has a really spacious, warm and cozy ambience.
My favorites from the menu at La Magia were Roasted summer vegetable tortellini, Leggera Pizza, Fungo Freddo Flatbread and Café Patron moussecake. What I loved about the food here was that all the ingredients were fresh, the portion sizes were just perfect and the presentation itself was a treat to the eyes. The handmade ravioli was of a perfect consistency and not doughy which is something I usually come across at the Italian restaurants here. The tomato broth in which the ravioli was served was subtle in flavour and yet perfectly seasoned and tasty. The pizza was a medium thin crust loaded with an Aglio e Olio of vegetables like zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce etc. on a bed of olive pate. The loaded vegetables together really enhanced the flavour of the pizza and were pretty well balanced with the flavour of olive pate. The Fungo Freddo flatbread was yet another example of how the less but the right simple ingredients can make a dish super tasty. This flatbread had a topping of truffle aioli and mushrooms, both well balanced, simple, subtle in flavours, perfectly seasoned, loved it! & finally the dessert, the moussecake was something that I would never stop eating. I am myself a big fan of chocolate, like c'mon who doesn't like chocolate. In terms of the texture, I personally felt that mousse was a bit dense and not exactly as light as a mousse should be but that's forgiven because the flavour was amazing. The chocolate flavour was close to a dark Belgian chocolate and the raspberry coulis was pretty good too but on it's own because it didn't really do much in terms of adding that extra flavour to the dish or balancing it out.
Overall my experience here was great, it's a perfect place for a nice date or family lunch/dinner and even after eating a lot of delicious food you won't be left feeling too heavy or anything because everything here is pretty healthy, light and as I mentioned earlier the portion sizes are...

The First impression of the ambience is it's expempalary. Beautifully sophisticated just true to its Name Magical. Cute decors and starry bling brought the magic with their lovely ambience.
Coming to the food they're truly insipred by coast of Sicily and influence of meditterian cuisine is wafting thru their food.
We started off with the Fungo fredo which is a chilled flatbread with mushrooms and truffle aioli. Perfect starter for the perfect lunch date.
Walnut and cranberry brie al forno with the micro mustard, grain mustard, cracked wheat lavache and Arugula salad was a michellin star plating with the apt flavourbomb profile.
Nachos spagnolo, gelato di formaggio- crispy, crunchy nachos with piqauant salsa verde was the party to my tastebuds.
We also loved their II Magic del Ceaser and insalata Mysteriosa Salads--Crunchy and perfect accompaniments to the dishes served.
We loved thier pizza napolitana, which is a speciality of the Naples with a crusty edge .
The stracciatella alla pugia which was a hash of roma tomatoes with blobs of stracciatella freshce was blissfully fantastic.
Definitely worthy of mentions was Capellini D'Angelo - a red capsicum mousseline, with walnut beurre blanc. It's fantastic and dreamy.
The sun kissed tomato ravioli with the roasted garlic and orange and oregano mousseline was deliziosa.
The Summer Roasted vegetable tortellini was light, summery broth and tortellini was cooked gorgeously. Perfectly light on the palatte.
Lastly ended our dreamy date with vola vola fragola - crispy warm vol au vent, citruis decoise , strawberry.
Tiramisu ala Magia-shortbread fingers coated with magic đ
Cafe patron moussecake - air dried bitter orange and raspberries coulis .
So for an dreamy and magical experience...
Read moreI recently visited "La Magia" in Pune, drawn in by the inviting atmosphere and beautiful interior garden. The place is well-maintained and clean, setting the stage for what one would hope to be a delightful experience. However, my anticipation quickly turned to disappointment upon the arrival of the food.
Believing I was about to enjoy an authentic Italian dining experience, I was disheartened to find that the dishes served bore little resemblance to genuine Italian cuisine, starting with oddly named items like "Formaggio di Formaggio," which have no place in Italy. While misnomers could be overlooked, the actual preparation of the dishes could not. Even a simple request for a Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella was lost in translation, resulting in a spicy, chili-laden dish far removed from its traditional counterpart. This deviation was particularly concerning given my explicit request for no spices or chili, a detail not only ignored but also completely omitted from the menu description.
This oversight was especially alarming in light of my specified food allergies, heightening my concern for safety. Additionally, a request for baked potatoes was met with a bland boiled substitute, further compounding the culinary missteps.
For those seeking authentic Italian cuisine, I regret to say this place may not meet your expectations. The most troubling part of the experience was the absence of the manager during a busy dinner service, leaving issues unaddressed despite the waiter's attempts to assist.
In conclusion, while "La Magia" boasts a pleasant environment, the dining experience leaves much to be desired. It's unfortunate to report that this restaurant does not live up to the standards of Italian cuisine it purports to offer. Not recommended for those in pursuit of an authentic...
