Read moreAt first glance, the menu from this establishment promises a culinary journey with multicultural influences, yet the execution falls short of the expectations one might have for such an enticing selection. The Chicken Pot Rice, priced at ₹675, regrettably descended into a culinary misadventure. The dish, which should have been a harmonious blend of flavors, was instead a disjointed combination of rice and a separate curry, composed of soy and chicken that failed to deliver a coherent taste profile. The deception in both taste and presentation significantly detracted from the dining experience.
The Malaysian Chicken Curry, while erroneously presented as a Thai Green Curry, managed to redeem itself to an extent with a pleasing assortment of vegetables, mushrooms, and broccoli. The thickness of the curry suggested an overzealous addition of cream, which, while adding richness, also obscured the dish's authenticity. At ₹595, the dish offered comfort, but not the promised Malaysian experience.
The Roasted Pork Ribs, costing ₹625, were a sweet endeavor with the honey BBQ sauce, yet the kitchen's execution was not in keeping with the standards of succulence that one would expect from such a dish. The meat's dry and rough texture indicated a possible oversight in the cooking process or the use of previously frozen meat, thus failing to achieve the melt-in-the-mouth fat that is the hallmark of perfectly cooked ribs.
The packaging, however, deserves commendation for its eco-friendly design and the skillful prevention of spillage, which speaks to the restaurant's commitment to customer convenience and environmental responsibility.
In summation, while the dishes provided sustenance, they did not rise to the occasion in terms of quality and authenticity, particularly given the premium pricing. The experience as a whole did not ascend to the heights of gastronomic finesse one would anticipate. The discrepancy between this and the high ratings seen on platforms such as Zomato and Google is perplexing. A fair assessment would place this dining experience at a 3.5 to 3.7 out of 5. It is a gentle reminder that the establishment must endeavor to improve its culinary offerings and ensure that the menu's promises are fulfilled in order to truly satisfy the palate of the...

2020 has undoubtedly been the toughest year for the world after maybe WW-2. The hospitality industry has suffered the most and it is heart warming to see local businesses bounce back slowly and steadily as we slowly adjust to the post Covid world.
I went to a restaurant for a tasting exactly after an year and frankly, I left speechless after because I went in expecting nothing and came out super impressed with the quality of food!
All I can say is that, Viman Nagar and Kalyani Nagar sorely needed a classy place that could serve brilliant Sushi, Dimsums and Pan Asian food and that’s what Mekong Folks brings to the table.
How many places do you know that can dare to play with delicacies like truffle, who make make Tofu taste better than other non veg delicacies around! How many places do you know that can make those perfect Pork or Buff Ribs, that can make those perfect dumplings that cause a riot in the mouth and of course get a rarity like Sushi right!
Just Look and stare at the translucent outer covering of those dumplings and marvel at the skill. The insides glistened like little diamonds.
All the best Team Mekong Folks! Your front end knows food as good as the backend and I’m sure backed by your experience in the hospitality industry, you’ll be the leading name this side of the town very soon!
Enjoy...
