If you’re looking for food with attitude then Nakhra in Aundh is the place to be – the name says it all! This spot doesn’t just serve up delicious dishes; it serves up drama. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a culinary show, and trust me, they pulled out all the stops. Well before we indulge in the nakhrewala dishes, let me tell you about the gorgeous architecture of Nakhra! It is a visual treat, perfectly blending modern elegance with a touch of royal charm. This chic rooftop spot in Aundh is a feast for the eyes even before the food arrives. The open-air section is stunning, with sweeping views and plenty of space to soak in the Pune sky. Imagine soft, ambient lighting and a gentle breeze, making every corner Instagram-worthy and impossibly calm.
Then there’s the closed royal section, which feels like stepping into an urban palace. It’s adorned with refined decor, rich textures, and muted hues that balance opulence with serenity. There’s an almost regal vibe to it – velvet accents, glimmering chandeliers, and just the right amount of subtle, luxurious detail. The overall ambiance makes you feel both relaxed and a little bit grand, as if dining in an elegant hideaway in the heart of the city. It’s a picturesque escape, inviting you to take in every detail and enjoy an experience that’s as soothing as it is sophisticated.
Starting with the Chaats of India, which, yes, was made right in front of my table. Talk about a theatrical performance! All the flair you’d expect – I could almost see the servers' invisible stage lights. Next up was the Raclette Naan – a gooey, melty masterpiece that would make any cheese lover shed a tear of joy.
The Madras Mini Podi Idli? Cute, spicy, and packing a punch. But the Patthar ke Kabab brought a whole new level of rustic charm. Butterwala Chicken Tikka was pure indulgence, while the Mangalorean Prawns Pil Pil had me wishing I’d ordered seconds before I was even done with my first bite.
Then came the Hot Stone Dal Moradabadi – a dish that was equal parts over-the-top and over-the-fire. This was straight-up dramebaazi on a plate, and I loved every second of it. The Smoked Laal Maas was rich, smoky, and just the right amount of spicy.
But the only place Nakhra missed the mark? The Dum Nakhra Chicken Biryani. Turns out the “dum” was only in the name – it was pan-cooked. I wanted those traditional layers of steam-infused goodness, but alas, it was missing the “dum” and the flair.
On to desserts: the Tulli Hui Kulfi was an absolute delight, and the Mawa Gulab Jamun Churros? Pure genius! Imagine churros embracing the soul of a gulab jamun, served with caramel and chocolate sauce – a combo I didn’t know I needed.
Nakhra, you’re dramatic, you’re quirky, and you’re delicious. The food lives up to the name and then some. If you’re in Pune, bring your appetite and your sense of humor because this place isn’t shy about putting on a...
Read moreAmbience nice, menu very good, cocktails real bomb, service good, but food preparation a little lack lustre, needs a lot more effort and interest from Chefs. Chaat board should be kept only by those places that know intricacies of chaat/ street food as they are charging 10 times more for that & not even providing the taste n quality of chaat, most board is empty as served quantity is less so they can call it an assortment but not a board, only 2 dhoklas saying its for 4 people look cheap. Dhoklas were so bad so dry and hard maybe kept outside since morning..pls remove them from this platter for god’s sake will you? Dry n cold aloo tikki omg…nakhra sits on top of a building that houses ‘Kadahi’ since many years…know for its famous chaats..worst item that nakhra could have incorporated in their menu is this chaat. Crispy corn despite asking for it to be crispy while ordering….had to be returned to the dear chef to do their jobs right! The Paneer tikka masala can be said to be a butter paneer gravy only with addition of spice…it was good but not a tikka gravy. Rotis parathas were so badly made, even dogs would have returned such hard dry cold rotis but we just wanted to get out by then. Must mention- pls be careful if u are hosting, as the servers have been trained to insist an expensive water bottle, expensive liquor brands top ups while ordering to your guests directly…despite asking them just serve the basic that’s written in menu. I personally don’t like such places wherein they keep pushing you to go for additions. Hosts end up paying a huge bill, ofcourse after doing this damage they also add a service charge of 10% (for an already raised bill for a lacklustre meal n expensive liquor brands)
If they are serving only Indian, makes sense to improve their abilities right? Else we have amazing options nearby like Dhaba Estd in pavillion mall- lip smacking food, best prices, best ambience, best service, best quality, quantity, food is freshly made, unlike here that’s served...
Read moreHorrible experience😡😡 i would personally not go back to this place again with my family or friends at all. Very disappointed with the staff & their service you literally have to wait for hours together to get your order on the table its like dying of hunger was so annoyed felt like leaving that place at that minute itself. The rates of the dishes & drinks are hiking like as if they are offering a 5 star hotel royal meal ofcourse not suitable for middle class people. I really regret on ordering the biryani taste wise horrible not like how it has to be the street side biryani taste much better than the biryani i ate at Nakhra. Very sad to see how the employees are treated there they are actually treated like slaves there is no unity among their own staff members then how can we expect them to give good service to their guest. Overall the atmosphere is pleasant it looks rich, aesthetic but does not match with the rest of the things. I personally liked only their sea food menu so far as compared to the rest of the veg & non veg dishes that i ordered the drinks also not that great really not worth my time & money.👎👎👎👎👎very very...
