Warning: Bought sweets from Mithas Aundh — saw fungus, we got sick; had past issue too
I visited Mithas Sweets, Aundh yesterday evening with my wife and a friend and bought a Green Peas Roll & Sandesh. Because we were hungry, we didn’t inspect carefully. Within an hour, all of us felt uneasy. By the next morning, I had severe stomach pain.
To add, this isn’t my first bad experience: a few years ago, my wife had to be hospitalised for 3 days because of a similar food safety issue after consuming sweets from the Pimple Saudagar branch.
What’s deeply upsetting is that the sweet we bought yesterday had visible fungus on top. I ignored it once, thinking it was some topping or masala—but that was a mistake. For sweets that cost so much, you expect freshness, hygiene, and safe food. Mithas seems to be selling sweets past their shelf-life or letting spoilage go unchecked.
Customers, please check carefully before eating. Don’t ignore anything that looks off. Mithas must get their act together: remove spoiled items, improve hygiene, and treat food safety as seriously as customers’ health, not just...
Read moreI had a highly disappointing experience with Mithas Restaurant through Zomato. I ordered Patal Poha Chiwda and Banana Chips, and both had serious quality and packaging issues.
1️⃣ Patal Poha Chiwda – The packaging had unclear manufacturing and expiry dates, with the "Use By" information masked, raising concerns about freshness and safety. This is a serious health hazard. Moreover, the tax invoice was incorrect and did not include all the items I ordered.
2️⃣ Banana Chips – The chips were overcooked, tasted bad, and seemed stale, making them unfit for consumption. After eating a few, I felt uneasy. The quality was unacceptable for a food product.
Despite reaching out to Mithas Support, I received no acknowledgment or resolution. This lack of response is extremely disappointing.
⚠️ I urge others to be cautious when ordering packaged snacks from this restaurant. Proper labeling and quality control should be a priority, but unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case here.
