Located in one of the narrow bylanes, opposite Medipoint hospital(Aundh), this place takes you to the tang galiyan of Sadi Dilli /Punjab, sprinkled with beautiful kothi’s on both sides with the wafting fragrance of Punjabi khaana and you know “This is it!!!” A bright yellow standee points out to the place. The interiors are rustic, homely with a very happy vibe to it. The hand painted walls and artifacts’ scream of fun, frolic, happiness n laughter. It looks as if Sunny Deol is going to take you to Punjab in his truck with Daler Mehandi singing “Bolo tarara” and you are caught between wanting to do a lil bhangra versus gobbling up that Parantha, makhan marke!!!! A Punjabi dhaba run by 3 enterprising women, the elder daughter looking after the interiors (all handpainted by her), and the younger one handling the everyday running, leaving aunty to churn out #maakehaathka #madewithlove #punjabifood for #thebhukkadsouls like us who miss #gharkakhaana served with #somuchloveandaffection. The twinkling eyes of aunty lights up the whole place. Like a #typicalmom she will pester you #pyarse to eat #petbharke. Everything is homemade here from scratch. Chole Bature/ Chole Kulche – #HotPuffy baturas #crispoutsidesoftinside dunked in the #appetising and #wholesome chole(typical north Indian style) gets you addicted for gud. The homemade #mirchikaachaar with green chutney and mathri adds to the experience. Replace the batura’s with #soft #spongy #fresh kulche and you get another #gobsmackingdelight. Maggi parantha – Fast food meets tradition. #mazedaarmaggi stuffed in parantha served #makkhanmarke. Finely chopped onions n green chillies would have added to the flavours. This fell short of the #wowexperience. The boondi raita was the saving grace. Typical dilli style had me asking or more. Punjabi tadka maggi – “Maggi” bas naam hi kaafi hai!!!. It is a religion which we all follow sacredly. No sharing, no talking ill about it. This was truly @fantafabulouslywowsome. #charchandlagadi Punjabi tadke ne. The chopped onions n green chillies gave it that crunch and spiciness. Chaas – Hands down the best I have had in Pune. One sip and I was in Patiala. The bhuna zeera n chat masala added to the flavours. A #chatpatachilleddelight not to be missed in any case. Gulab jamun - #Hot, #delectable, #melt-in-the-mouth with just the right amount of sweet this was a #joy to be #relished at its own sweetpace. Besides being a restaurant and delivery kitchen they do take orders for corporate and family functions too. Their meal boxes start from 50 Rs onwards. Do give them a try for that typical Punjabi food served with so much love and care. They are just a call away. A home away from home, Pink Turbann is all about “Happiness that is...
Read moreOur precious baby girl Zoya celebrated her first birthday on 30-Mar last week. For her party, we were on the lookout for caterers who were passionate about food (my wife and I both come from a foodie lineage and have sizes to show for it!), uncompromising on taste and also not overly expensive. After trials with several caterers, we finalized with Shreya and Sangeeta Aunty from Pink Turbann.
The food menu included strawberry crush, panipuri, mini samosa, French fries, masala chicken nuggets, chole bhature, dal & jeera rice, chicken biryani and gulab jamun with papad, pickles and fryums. We were thinking of a traditional meal menu, but with Sangeeta Aunty's advice, we finalized this menu which had something for everyone.
The food preparation was done well in time. The setup was clean and Pink Turbann (PT) was ready to serve at 15m notice. They adjusted well to guests coming a little late. Food taste was excellent. Pani puri and samosas were well liked and appreciated. French fries were a hit with the kids. Even though there was no provision to fry bhature near the serving area, PT Team handled it superbly. Bhature were crisp, well cooked and delicious with chole. Chicken biryani was a runaway hit too - I had many guests who swore by its taste and said they overate. :) Gulab jamuns reminded us of North India esp. Delhi gullies with their huge kadhais and sweet syrupy balls of pleasure. Strawberry crush was also excellent, in fact some guests had it after their meals too.
Kudos to the PT Team for their excellent food and service. Shreya and Sangeeta Aunty went out of their way to make sure my guests were well fed and taken care of. They made sure that my princess’ birthday was a roaring success.
If I had to give one feedback to PT, it'd be improve on their serving team. The food and its quality is undoubtedly very good!
Highly...
Read moreFood level - Home made , amazing , rich and extremely yummy Service - Felt like I was home and was being served hot yummy home made food by my mother Ambiance - Cozy and comfortable
Do you know what is the ultimate comfort food ? The one that has been cooked by your mother, it could be anything and would still taste like heaven. This is how I felt exactly when I visited and had the food made by the very sweet mother of Shreya who patiently gave us what we wanted.
Dishes tried Chole Kulche - I have always loved this epic combination and once again The pink turban has not let me down. Great taste on those chole done Delhi style and extremely rich and filling. The kulche were well done as well and the whole combination was one cozy meal.
Matra Kulche - This was my first time that I tried this variant and was extremely pleased with the taste, some people do find the chole a bit heavy and the matra is a great substitute . As told to us the Matra Kulche are mostly eaten for breakfast and the Chole Kulche for Lunch we could make the difference in the lightness of the Matra Kulche.
*Papdi Chat - A dish that is a favourite of every Indian who loves chat this was a really well done one .. Loved the flavours.
*Chole Bhature - One of the best of the menu and saved for last , the hot , soft and flavorful bhature were soo tasty and the chole were the best accompaniment I cannot describe it in words and a visit is must to only experience how well these were made.
We also tired some Chaas and Lassi which was served to us at the beginning.. and as all the food these were extremely tasty too.. This place is must visit if you wish to have some really good north Indian food . Most of the food and drinks are served in earthen utensils and that is another USP of this place as it gives a very authentic feel to the...
