The Old Mansion — Restaurant in Pune

The restaurant is located in Balewadi [Baner-Balewadi Road] and can be easily navigated via Google Maps. They have parking alongside the road and guy to help you park yourself or opt for valet parking.

Visited on Sunday evening for dinner with friends. Had booked a table for 6 with two kids and got a table immediately. They honor the bookings made online along with all offers promised. No question asked. The offer is on all items.

Coming to the food review, the portion and serving style is like a five-star hotel. We had ordered:

Manchow Soup - The soup was perfect and we had requested a less spicy version which was conveyed to the chef and it turned out to be a good choice.

Tandoori Chicken - Soft and tender pieces of chicken, well cooked and served with onion & mint chutney.

Murg Nazakaat - This was a unique starter in the form of a chicken roll with chicken inside and outside and grilled to perfection. Must Try, spice level was normal but with flavours.

Paneer Tikka - Super soft and flavorful pieces of paneer, vegetarians must order this.

Murg Musallam - Chicken in chicken mince gravy served with Rice, portion was sufficient for four people.

Veg Nizami Handi - Veggies with paneer in delicious gravy.

Butter Garlic Naan - The naan was crispy and not elastic.

French Fries - The presentation and quality of fries was excellent. The kids loved it.

Fresh lime Soda (Sweet) - a good drink to savour with food.

Staff is courteous and the best I have seen in Pune. First, they are not less in number, unlike other major restaurants due to COVID pandemic. Second, they greet you from the entrance to your table and also assist in case any help is required. Our notorious kids also enjoyed and liked the music.

Washrooms are cleaned and well maintained.

The price is on the higher side but justified by the quality of food and service.

They had a live performance on the Ground floor and the guy hired was doing a good job. They also had a photographer who clicked many good snaps of our group.

I did not even feel like giving 1 star for this place, I booked a dineout for Valentine's through zomato, when I contacted them to check the status of my booking they said they do not accept bookings through zomato if you want to book you need to book with us directly, the option that they gave me was semi roof top, asked me to pre book and make payment, the pass mentioned that booking starts 7pm onwards with unlimited food, cocktail shots and everything, it was not mentioned anywhere that there is a timeslot, I paid to reserve a table for me and my partner, when I went there at 9pm they said that semi roof top is fully booked as you arrived late, they offered me a table in lounge at same price, music was so loud we could talk and the service was so pathetic, after waiting for 10 minutes they gave the menu and menu had so limited options which we did not even like, it was like forcing their choices on us, as we had no other option we had to choose a drink and again had to wait for someone to take our order, later the order was served in a use and throw glass which was so pathetic it tasted like a normal soft drink and they took away the menu, before we could order the food, did not even ask if we would like to order food. Even after calling multiple times nobody came to take our order, we were so disappointed that we had to leave. When we were leaving they did not even bother to ask why are we leaving, also, there were other people coming down and complaining that they have been waiting for an hour but no one is bothered to take their orders.. Sitting here right now waiting for my order to arrive and I regret coming here on Valentines day. Not only is my evening ruined but the overall appetite to have food is also gone. Service sucks so bad. Server guy has no idea what to do and they all are so confused like they don’t even no their own menu. First of we booked table through swiggy dineout and we were gonna get an offer but upon coming here we got to know that they are not accepting any third party app payments and additionally were also charging a cover charge of 2000. Paying cover charge is no big deal but atleast ensure you are ready to serve amount of people you are giving out reservations to. I have been here before and it was not this disappointing but this is height of major issues with management and just a restaurant grabbing cash from its customer. Absolutely hating this horrible experience and never ever visiting this place again. If you are planning to come here with your special one, do yourself a favour and visit other better places like Hippie@Heart and Culture 2.0 in Balewadi where staff is professional and overall experience is better.
