Theobroma Bakery and Cake Shop - Kothrud, Pune — Restaurant in Pune

I have been eating and ordering brownies from here since a very long time. Recently tried ordering cakes from here and they were equally great, i love the small brownie packing, even they pack a single brownie in their cute small box. Taste is authentic with managed sweetness which is a good thing. Usually we get pastries which are very sweet and is with added colors but not here. Here you will get a soothing flavors and not only sweetness. Recently tried their Halloween pastries. Pumpkin pie and hazelnut chocolate cupcake. I wish they could serve pumpkin pie all year long because it was really amazing. It was a treat for the eyes as well as for taste buds. The mild sweetness and a dash of cinnamon to the pie with whipped cream on top was worth the wait. Also i am curious about their other Halloween pastries and...

I recently bought a mango pudding from Theobroma and was shocked by how awful it tasted — it was completely spoiled. The texture, smell, and taste were off, indicating it was either expired or improperly stored.

I visited the store to inform them, hoping for a replacement or refund. To my disbelief, the staff not only refused to take responsibility but laughed it off and casually told me to “mail the company.” No apology, no accountability, no seriousness. It was truly shameful behavior from a brand that claims to value quality and customer satisfaction.

Selling spoiled food and then mocking genuine feedback is absolutely unacceptable. I’ve been a regular customer, but after this experience, I’ve completely lost trust in Theobroma. If this is how they handle complaints about unsafe food, it’s a major red flag...

The pastries were good, the quality was nice. Now coming to the main point. The staff here is very rude and arrogant. They do not care about their customers. First they told us to wait outside due to covid protocols which is fine. Later when we entered after previous batch of customers came out, no one was there to serve us as all were facing towards the laptops for online orders? So is this how you treat someone?. Just because there is online food that doesn't mean you will not care about the customers coming to the shop. Later after Billing, the woman over there again rudely told us to go outside. Seriously? Are these your ethics of treating customers? @Theobroma your cakes are really great and that's the reason we all prefer you in place of other shops, but such staff behaviour is going to loose...
