Review of Wadeshwar Restaurant, Pune
Wadeshwar is one of Pune’s most iconic South Indian and Maharashtrian restaurants, offering a delightful blend of traditional and innovative dishes. With multiple outlets across the city, it has earned a reputation for consistently serving high-quality food in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
One of the highlights of Wadeshwar is its authentic South Indian fare. The dosas are crisp and flavorful, the idlis are soft and fluffy, and the sambhar is perfectly spiced. Their signature dishes, such as the Mysore Masala Dosa and Ragi Dosa, offer a delightful twist on classic flavors. Additionally, their filter coffee is a must-try, providing an authentic taste of South India.
Beyond South Indian food, Wadeshwar also serves a variety of Maharashtrian delicacies. The Misal Pav here is a crowd favorite—spicy, tangy, and loaded with flavor. Their Thalipeeth and Sabudana Khichdi are perfect for those looking for a traditional yet healthy meal.
The restaurant’s ambiance is another strong point. With its open-air seating and lush greenery, it provides a relaxing environment, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or a casual evening snack. The service is generally quick, and the staff is polite and attentive.
While the food quality is excellent, the restaurant can get quite crowded, especially on weekends, leading to waiting times. However, the wait is usually worth it. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes offered.
Overall, Wadeshwar is a fantastic place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic South Indian and Maharashtrian food in Pune. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, it’s a must-visit for a wholesome and flavorful...
Read moreWanted to make a special occasion for celebrating Mahashivratri and Women's Day together and so chose to visit here. Was earlier too disappointed but thought that may be one off case so risked for one more time. And the inevitable happened... We were 8 and had to settle for two separate tables after waiting for about 35-40 minutes (accepted considering it's 'brand'). After about 10 minutes were attended by the waiter to take order, since it was 'upvas' wasn't much to choose from. We placed our order and kept waiting and waiting (majority staff busy catering parcel orders), in the meantime got lucky to find ourselves a single table for 8 and again kept waiting and after an eternity (ok, 30 minutes after order placement) we got our order Partially.... By the way we couldn't order exact items that we wanted as they were run out of those dishes... Partial order placed in the table we gulped down and again kept waiting for next lot.... Had to expedite twice and fight once before we finally got remaining order (lost count of time by then!) And portions were more surprising than the service.... 120/- for a khichadi/ sweet potato 'khees' and portion was just a minuscule katori (same as used to serve sambar!!!) So, they ensured amhala upvaas ghadel ani nidaan amcho Mahashivratra tari 'sajri' hoil!!! Thanks Wadeshwar team, to make my choice earlier next time as I will never have to even think of coming back here!!!
PS: I feel so bad to have missed out to take fotos is as within a morsel or two it...
Read moreWadeshwar in Kothrud is one of the best places in Pune to enjoy authentic South Indian and Maharashtrian food. The ambience is simple yet welcoming, with a clean and well-maintained setup that makes it comfortable for both family outings and casual meals. The staff here is polite, quick, and attentive, which adds to the overall pleasant dining experience.
The food is undoubtedly the highlight. Their dosas, uttappams, and idlis are always fresh, crisp, and perfectly cooked, served with a variety of chutneys and sambar that are full of authentic flavors. Apart from South Indian dishes, their Maharashtrian snacks like misal pav, thalipeeth, and sabudana khichdi are also very popular and worth trying. The taste is homely, light on the stomach, and consistent across visits, which is why people keep coming back.
Another good thing is their pricing – very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food they serve. It’s also a good place for breakfast, brunch, or even a light evening meal. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours, but the quick service makes up for it. Overall, Wadeshwar Kothrud is a must-visit for anyone who loves tasty, healthy, and authentic food at affordable rates.
