This restaurant is located near the fatehsagar lake and offers an awesome view of the lake. If u ever get a chance to visit udaipur, i think u should opt for this restaurant. Its a 2 story restaurant so u can choose where u want to sit. If u are with someone who can't climb, take the lower level. Its wheelchair accessible as well, so kudos for that.
FOOD: I think this is the most important part of any restaurant. No matter how good everything is, but if the food is not tasty its worthles and it will leave u impressed specially if u are a non vegetarian. I visited there in January and took the recommendation of waiter who suggested us "Khada chicken". At first i was hesitant as butter chicken is what i generally order if i want to opt for non veg food. But i took the chance and trust me it was one the best chicken dish i've ever had. Its beyond explanation. The flavours were so good and everything was so on point. If u are non vegetarian and love spicy food, just go for it. The quantity of dishes were good enough. For example half khada chicken was enough for 2 adults. When i saw the menu i felt its costly but i think if u are family of 3-4 people u can easily dine there in 1200rs thats roughly around 300-400/per person which is decent for non veg dining. And the view of lake was so mesmerising that meanwhile we were enjoying the views our food arrived.
Service: I felt the service was not that fast even though there were not too many customer. But it was not too slow either.
Pricing: As i told u earlier the pricing is average it might feel high initially but the portion were good enough. Kahada chicken was priced at around 350 which is good for 2 people.
Overall i would recommend this place to everyone specially non vegetarians. The veg food was also good, but the non veg was exceptional. The views are totally worth it. What i didn't liked about this place is that the interiors are very basic here, they should impoove there.
Pro tip: Try to get a table near the entrence as u can have an uninterrupted view of lake from there on lower floor and on first floor towards...
Read moreWe have travelled to over 50 countries and this is probably one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve had. The whole point of visiting this restaurant(which our guide took) was to have a quiet lunch with Lake view. Turns out, they have just one table with two chairs. We were three. We asked if they can add a chair , so all three of us can be seated. The restaurant was half empty. So, it wasn’t like there was any space issue. The server insisted that they can’t do it. My wife asked what’s the point of this place if you can’t see the lake. The server threw the additional chair and rushed into the kitchen. It was pretty clear that he didn’t like a woman telling him logically in an empty restaurant to add a chair to accommodate my mom with us. We obviously left without eating and went to an even better lunch place called “RajBhog” which was actually at the lake. The manager tried to follow us and apologize but we walked away.
So if you are considering this restaurant,
a) It has two tables for two people with a huge traffic road in between before you see the lake. So, the Lake view is almost a misnomer here.
b) Service was pretty bad for us but am sure the guy who threw the chair probably still works there. I wouldn’t recommend a place where they allow customers to be treated so badly even before they...
Read moreMy visit to Jhumar Restaurant, with its stunning Fateh Lake view, left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant's gesture of offering complimentary papad as a starter was a pleasant surprise and set a warm tone for the meal. The budget-friendly menu was certainly appealing, allowing me to enjoy tasty food without straining my wallet.
However, I couldn't help but notice that the service at Jhumar Restaurant was on the slower side. While the scenic surroundings provided a pleasant ambiance, the slow service did take away from the overall experience. It's worth noting that patience is required, especially during peak hours when the restaurant might be busier.
Despite the sluggish service, the food itself managed to shine. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and the Fateh Lake view added a touch of elegance to the dining experience. The complimentary papad was a thoughtful touch that I appreciated.
In conclusion, Jhumar Restaurant offers a budget-friendly option for those seeking tasty food with a view of Fateh Lake. The free papad starter adds a nice touch, though it's important to be prepared for a slower pace of service. If you're willing to trade a bit of patience for a delightful meal and beautiful surroundings, Jhumar Restaurant might be the right...
