Ram Pratap Palace By Fateh Collection — Hotel in Rajasthan

I stayed the last week of June 22 at this hotel with my family. Parking – The hotel has a decent amount of parking. It’s extended to a public street where less traffic is there. Location – The location of the hotel is a very good place. Most of the tourist places are around a 5 km radius. It is on the bank of Fateh Sagar Lake and you can enjoy the lake view from its restaurant called Raj-Bagh. Compared to old city hotels, you will find a good amount of space plus less traffic. Reception – Hotel has good decent amount of check in process with good smile. Front desk staff Dinesh & Brij supported very well and share good information which help to plan itinerary as well. Rooms – I have opted lake facing deluxe room. The rooms were very good and big in size. Front desk team allotted best rooms of my lake facing deluxe room categories. Rooms were neat and clean. Basic facilities like AC, Bed, TV, Fan, Toilets all were up to the mark and well maintained. Room Wi-Fi was also decent. The only missing was refrigerator; however, you can use hotel common refrigerator. Rooms corridors were also maintained very well. Overall, good heritage come modern rooms. The hotel is running an RO plant and avoiding plastic bottles and providing bottles in glass bottles, such an initiative is also impressive. The hotel is not having proper indoor games and refreshment areas. No proper in-house games and no gym area at the hotel. There is one souvenir shop at the hotel, which was closed when I visited hotel. Staff & Services – The staff was polite. The reception staff like Dinesh, and Brij supported very well and provide a decent check-in – check-out process. The housekeeping staff like a person from Dholka (Gujarat) has provided good services to us. The room was daily maintained properly. Food – We have opted for rooms with breakfast. And I must say the quality and taste of the breakfast were really very good. This is one of the finest breakfasts I had in recent times among multiple hotels. The view of Fateh Sagar Lake during breakfast adds more charm to your breakfast. The open restaurant RajBagh was also good, with service with a decent quality of food. The only issue is lighting. During dinner, the lighting was not managed, you feel less light during your dinner. I suggest more lighting to be added during dinner.

The hotel/resort is located on the main highway adjacent to the Fatehsagar lake.The location is a fresh breather from the congested lanes and hotels near Pichola lake. And this is considering the price bracket of 4000-6000rs depending on season. They have plenty of uncovered and non gated parking, which is a rare treat in udaipur. The parking is present on the other side of side road, which is adjacent to their restaurant. View from 2nd floor Lake facing rooms is better in comparision to 1st floor rooms. Rooms are neat and clean with clean linen and towels. Electric Kettle is provided. Drinking water is RO one. Hair drier is not provided. Washroom is small and average. Washroom has an exhaust fan but no wiper. Everything in washroom is functioning properly. They dont provide comb, toothpaste and toothbrush. AC of the room was very effective.The restaurant is open sky lakeside and an enclosed one both .Usually the roofed one is empty and its AC remains always off. It would have been better if they switched the ACs always on, which would entice a no of customers in scorching heat n humidity after enjoying the open sky lakeside view. The lake view garden n restaurant has amazing views esp at sunset. Didnt try food , so cant really comment on quality. Breakfast buffet was average both in spread, variety and taste. They need to improve on it. Service at rooms is good and instant. The hotel is at walkable distance from restaurant 1559, which also provides good food and ambience. Location: Right in front of Fateh Sagar and all locations are accessible if your plan is to visit any notable places in city. Best part is there garden restaurant which is right across road and provides best possible view of fatehsagar Lake and mountains, and this make it worth every penny spent. Your breakfast, lunch, evening snacks or candle light dinner, it's apt for every meal. Ohh.. I said it's location is on main road so the continuous traffic noise somewhat kills that almost serene feel of a morning breakfast or book read.

Room: Room was at top most floor, view from window was of Sajjangarh fort and mountains at a distance, also sun sets there so that added to delight. Request for dental kit and they will provide which I feel is correct too. Marble flooring and seating gives that heritage feel you want from property. View of Lake & mountains from terrace is worth your couple of hours. Heritage require extra maintenance of everything to keep things into rustic feel and not letting it become junk. Room sofa and almirah can be improved.

Being a Fateh collection property, the facilities are good and they maintain standard at all their properties. Ram Pratap palace is obvio most economical of all. Visited their 5 star property of Fatehgarh too, which one can should visit and relish evening snack/dinner at their baradari resto overlooking entire city of Udaipur. If possible do explore option of staying at Fatehgarh. You'll fall in love with place, coz, that's my plan...
