Hotel Rani Palace at Lake Fatehsagar, Udaipur — Hotel in Rajasthan

We stayed here as a family of 9 people, in 3 rooms, this month. Found the hotel on google maps, chose it because of reviews. Misleading reviews.

Cons: Extremely unclean bathroom. Hair clogging drains. Poorly lit, hard to see. Exhaust fan not working. It's 2023 and they provided us 2 lifebuoy mini soaps for our 3 day trip. No soap holders or cloth hangers in the bathroom. Buckets and mugs are old and dirty. Hot water available only in the morning till 10 am, not comfortable for large families. Bathrooms not cleaned daily. We had to ask for the wiper to dry the floor ourselves. There were 3 power sockets in the room of which only 1 was working. You have to constantly ask for water bottles and glasses. They do not provide it themselves, if you don't ask. Glasses and cutlery were dirty, stained and scratched. Architecturally, very poor. Dingy and poorly lit property. No lift. A constant musty odour in the hotel due to poor sanitation. Only one person to service all customer needs including tea, cleaning, changing sheets etc. He is overworked and not promptly available. Windows in the room, that open to walls of another building. Cannot be opened. Rooms give a constant bad odour.

Terrible Experience - Misleading Booking and Dirty Room! I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. I booked online at a certain rate, but upon arrival, the staff claimed that online bookings are too cheap and forced me to "upgrade" for an additional ₹600. Despite paying extra, the room provided was in terrible condition — dirty, poorly maintained, and definitely not worth the money.

The AC unit was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages.

There was visible dust on furniture and stains on the rug.

The bathroom was disgusting — moldy walls, dirty drains, and water leaking from the ceiling.

Even the ceiling fan was covered in dirt, and the room overall felt unhygienic.

This place is clearly not maintained properly and is misrepresented online. Totally unprofessional and not recommended. Avoid...

This hotel seems like an old bungalow was renovated and converted into a hotel. The rooms were too big and L shaped bathroom. This hotel isnt a 3 star but has all the qualities like one. This hotel is at a prime location of udaipur where most of the tourist places are lesser than 7km away. Also this is very close to fateh sagar lake which is a good point to spend evenings!

The service as also good, whenever you call for help the staff is easily approachable.
