A Royal Retreat at Raj Bagh Palace

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Raj Bagh Palace in Amer, Jaipur, and it truly felt like stepping into a bygone era of regal charm. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the serene surroundings—lush greenery, distant views of the Aravalli hills, and a peaceful atmosphere that instantly made me feel relaxed.

The room was beautifully designed, blending traditional Rajasthani architecture with modern comforts. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered a quiet escape from the bustle of the city. I especially appreciated the blackout curtains and soundproofing, which made for restful nights.

The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Every interaction—from check-in to dining—was handled with genuine hospitality. The restaurant served a delightful mix of local and international dishes, and the breakfast spread was generous and satisfying.

One of the highlights was simply walking around the property. The gardens are well-maintained, and I often found myself pausing to listen to birdsong or admire the palace-like details of the building. I was visiting Udaipur from Florida, USA, and decided to have lunch at Raaj Bagh with my family. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.

We chose this place because of its location and ambiance, but the overall service and food quality did not meet expectations. Firstly, even though the restaurant had a no-smoking policy where we were dining, we noticed some people smoking nearby, which made it uncomfortable, especially since we were with kids. Looks like out door was all drinking and smoking place, I will not recommend for family.

The service was extremely slow — we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When it finally did, the dishes were overly oily and lacked flavor. I also had concerns about the freshness and quality of the paneer; it didn’t taste right. Additionally, we ordered some mocktails, looks like we were drinking a carbonated water, (never order such drink, they have no idea how to make it), it was a ripoff, ( guys learn and do not cheat). In fact, we notified the servers, but the poor staff couldn’t do anything to help.

Given the reviews and location, we expected much better. Sadly, we had to leave early and weren’t able to enjoy our meal. Definitely not a pleasant experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it for families or anyone expecting good service and quality food. Hopefully, They...
