This is an Old Theatre converted into a Hotel and Club, with rooms, a bar and a restaurant.

The retro architecture and design philosophy of the property is nostalgic and would take you back to the Bollywood of the '80s. That said, the need for immediate maintenance work and upkeep is apparent.

The food we tried was good - fish fingers, chicken Caesar salad and pepperoni pizza, the servings were decent too - absolutely no complaints.

I must make special mention about the Restaurant/ Hotel Manager, and Miss. Komal - the Receptionist, for their courteousness and behavior towards us. They were good.

Now, coming to the reason why the overall experience was let down - it was because of our Room - room number 110, and the date was 07.05.2022 - one will understand the kind of heat we are referring to. To begin with, the AC remote was not working. Although late in the night, we tried the reception, and were pleasantly surprised with the assurance of the night manager assured. However, it turned out, it was just that - assurance. Even after waiting for a while, nothing happened. We had to call the reception again, and this time the gentleman came up to our room, seemingly irritated and unhappy with life.

We tried to explain our issue, but he was adamant on the fact that the AC was blowing cold air - barely though.

He did not even understand the issue. The issue was the damn AC remote, and not the AC, however, by the time his-highness graced us with his presence, the AC itself had developed a mind of its own.

Our efforts to reason with his-highness were futile, and we were finally told, "since it is not hot outside (refer to 7.5.2022), we should use the fan and sleep" - yes, that, like seriously.

On further requesting him to move our room, we were told, "this is the best room in the Hotel, and the Hotel is absolutely full, and hence, we cannot be moved" - amazingg.

So, we were left to fend for ourselves for the night, with a FAN and an AC which had decided to be absolutely uncooperative with its Remote sibling, no matter how much of coaxing and cajoling was attempted. The next morning, we understood that that Hotel was absolutely far from FULL, and we were made to suffer the entire night at the hands of his-highness.

Hey so finally after a long time again i visted rootage again with my family to rootage..!! The ambience was totally like wow.. Everything was totally set.. So finally we were hungry n so we were much excited for food..! So we order dry paneer chilly & chinese sizzler..! To take the order we have to call the waiter more then 5 times..! Itz ohky we understood actually the restaurant was totally been occipied by guest bcoz it was sunday n seen it was heavily raining.. So we were like fine..! The order came late.. it was like toomuch but we were like fine..! Yaar Then he brought our panner chilly..! The panner chilly wasn’t at all dry..! It was like gravy and we said him..! So he like maam dry mein “itna toh aata hai” n so i was like i am basicaly from udaipur i usually come here..! So dont tell me i known..! But my family said itz ohk lets have it since we were hungry..! We had it..! Itz was tasteless..! I had recommended many people as the best panner chilly in udaipur “N now THE WORST SO PLZ NEVER ORDER IT” N after that came our sizzler and itz was like too much aur bhi worst..! Firstly if you cant mangage in so much rush than plz increase the number of staff.. aur else you will spoil your customers.. After that we were like nai we dont need maincourse.. n we were like bill plz.. n Rest other family went just we 3 were sitting for bill.! Still the bill didnt came since last 20 minutes n we asked him also for the water.. Then again we said for bill again he is like yes maam ..! Again the bill didn’t n nor the water..! N ha finally our bill came am i scolded him..! Ki shall i go without paying my bill..! He brOught the bill after 30 minutes with no water... N so finally i paid.. after dat he didnt brought change he said plz come downstairs an plz collect your cash.. Their were reviews paper n i wrote..! The pen wasnt working finally i took the pen i wrote..! But they didnt read that n they didnt ask that So finally after so long a very very bad bad or else worst experience of the restaurant in udaipur.. We stayed in this property for 3 nights and 2 days. I would rate the overall experience in this hotel to be below average. Pros: • Near to the "Bapu Bazaar" which is one the prime market area of Udaipur • Walkable distance from "Surajpol", Vintage Car Museum etc. • If you love walking and love exploring new place on foot, then Lake Pichola is also at a walkable distance. • The lounge/club downstairs plays good music. • In the room, lights and fan were operational. Geyser was operational. Although the wash basin tap seemed like it would come off the wall anytime. • Breakfast was not an elaborate spread, but still a decent one. Cons: • No elevator. • Rooms were average, like any 2.5 -3 star hotel. Overall feel of the room was just average. • The biggest turn off - Bathroom was smelly. Smell was quite evident as soon as we opened the door of bathroom. There was no relief from the smell during the whole stay. After much request, an aroma diffuser was arranged, and we had to keep requesting them again and again for the refill. • TV system was not working, Every time, we turned on the TV and it asked for recharge. Hotel would say they have recharged it, and after being operational for 15 minutes, it would again ask for recharge. • Room service was average. • Staff in the morning hours at the reception desk was not polite and they were not ready to hear you out. • Music from club downstairs can be heard even in the room. If you're holidaying with friends, you may love it, but if you are travelling with family and kids, this may seem to be an issue to you. Personally, we did not mind the music. • The only time we ordered something in lounge was not that great, so did not have the courage to try food again. The only respite was the pool side view from the room's window and the arrangement of pool side seating during breakfast time.
