Hosts are nice and ply you with food until you are full... then charge you for it. Notice breads aren't on the menu. First just made up a price for the meal with no written bill, then after questioning that just made up 100 rupees for a naan. Food was otherwise reasonably priced. However I ordered a thali and just got a dal, partner ordered the paneer curry, which came out cold, then I was given what looked like the leftovers after I asked if all I was getting was the dal. Read moreI loved this restaurant that feels like a home and the hospitable, kind and generous family who own it. It was my favorite meal in India & I have traveled here for 4 months so far. I watched the family cook in front of me, had a nice conversation and felt like a welcomed guest in their home. Food and tea were delicious and extremely reasonably priced. They kept offering me more food till I was completely full. Mother gave me a banana for the road and the son even offered to drop me off on his motorcycle. Even if the chai is good, the woman force people to stay at her place. It's written 100 INR thali outside her tea stall, but when you ask the bill , she charges you 250 INR. Moreover the food was not even a thali but weird rests from her fridge. She is talking a lot, joking and acts as a show, call foreigners walking in front of her restaurant. But it is a real tourist trap.
