Hotel Saravana Bhavan — Restaurant in St.Thomas Mount-Pallavaram Cantonment Board

Long review short - Very bad experience Complete experience; I went to have breakfast here for the first time, i went to billing and asked for Dosa to dine in. He told to have a seat and staff will take an order from you. There were some reserved tables which I know i should not occupy and took the tables which doesnt have reserved card. After I sit, some guy came and kept the reserved card without talking to me anything. I thought to ask someone but no one even approaching me to get the order. I waited for 20 mins to see if someone comes and takes the order, but no one came. Some white uniform guy going to other tables and taking order but not coming to my table, at least they could come and say something was what I am waiting for. Out of patience, i stood up and asked him to take the order, but he didn't even look at me even i was at just 10 cms away from him and thinking that he was busy i approached even closer to tell him, he look at the other side and talking to some other staff and moved away. I felt such a disrespect at that moment that i dont have any value and left the hotel without eating anything. Later i realised if i myself getting treated like that, then what kind of respect they can give to old people, to labours, to drivers, to housewifes who came to dine? Are they thinking that some one should look porsche to get their attention or by default they should read some terms and conditions of saravana bhavan? 😆 To my surprise, the hotel is almost 70% occupied and people were taking orders to home. If saravana bhavan values are like we dont respect people then pls dont expect they will make a quality food for you. Their confidence could be that even at this level of low maintenance we are getting customers means, we got some good brand name so lets exploit people's trust. What i assume is they had a plan to demolish that as its not worthy to maintain, but at last minute they could have thought that lets run it as many days as possible with lowest maintenance to save money till customers come, once customers stop coming then we can close it.

Afrer this incident, i checked with my friends and I came to know that they are not maintaining food standards also properly. If you still have doubts you can call food inspector and if all tests passed then you can...

Worst worst worst Went for lunch frst they dnt even clean te table for past 15mins , then they cleaned the table left the old tumblers on the table , then waiter came and ask fr orders v ordered 3 normal meals and 2 normal dosa, It came very late , then all came frst wen I saw te dosa it makes me feel bad I hv never seen such a dosa preparation done by Saravana bhavan, the dosa flour already GT tat smell I think they hv made it wit some mix to make dosa as v all usually done in our home , then tomato chutney , am paying money to the food can't u even check it before u serve both dhal chutney also gone out , then I complaint this thing to the waiter he s like ok sir and went in the kitchen and came back aftr 10mins, I taught he wil bring anor side dish fr me bt then he came and ask me like shal I bring anor one . I GT tensed and said like bring it soon sir, then the vegetables they served fr meals also gone out , since it's a reputed hotel I dnt expect this type of food , people who came fr Saravana bhavan Wil expect the high quality, even myself thinking the same, bt they disappointed me , nt only me anor person who was already complaining over there , while complaining and v wrote those things in feedback note one of the waiter said like they dnt even care abt tis even if u post it anywhere like he s saying. Hotel Saravana Bhavan is in expanding spree and in that process and new outlet opened in alandur about 5 months back in a property that was unused for many years now... Easily visible just after you cross alandur and move towards meenambakkam in an area that's popularly called as the cement road... The outlet has some huge exclusive parking and that could be last of the positives at this outlet...

They have a very big dining area divided in a Non A/C self service area, a Non A/C hall and a A/C hall... Can seat around 100 ppl in total easily...the maintenance is very average and not that great that you expect form an outlet that's brand new...

The Service is really bad in this outlet.. No 2 words about it... Have been to this outlet around 3 times and always was disgusted with the response and behavior of the servers here... They head persons treat you as if they are paying for our meals.. Long waiting times and even after the wait we had to have cold food...

The Food is nothing great in taste...only the breakfast or Tiffen items i tried here were worth it...the meals and other lunch items were too bad in taste... Quantity too less in quantity and few items did not seem even fresh...

Pricing of items is too high for the food served and the quantity... Quality is average.. Bad service.. Only the ambiance is the saving grace for this place which too might loose in the long run.. Better avoided unless you are left with no...
