BARBEQUEEN RESTAURANT(SAIBABA COLONY) — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Just an average overpriced place to eat. I've tried a couple of dishes via take away services.

1. Grilled chicken - Definitely a better one in Coimbatore, cooked tenderly and spices under the chicken are cooked too unlike most places where spices are uncooked. (Only go to dish here)
2. Tandoori chicken - not the same as grilled, extremely overcooked as it's half cooked earlier and once the order is placed, the rest is cooked again. (This processes takes away the moisture inside the chicken making it extremely dry)
3. Chicken shawarma - flavor profile is good although too much mayo for my liking.
4. Parotta - Decent, nothing special about it.
5. Chettinad chicken gravy - It had no authenticity in flavors, chettinad cuisine is unique with powerful flavor spice combinations which it never had, and especially at this price range they could serve it boneless like many other places.
6. Chicken manch fried rice - I mistook it for Manchow rice served with a gravy, but it was their own style of rice without a gravy. The rice was moist as it wasn't sautéed enough under high fire, defeats the purpose of calling it a 'fried rice'. The vegetables in it were overcooked as opposed to being crunchy.
7. Chicken Schezwan noodles: Same as the above, soggy noodles and overcooked veggies. It didn't have the wok flavor whatsoever as it wasn't cooked on high fire used in authentic Chinese kitchens. It also had some sort of metal shaving which is totally unacceptable. I was fortunate to find it while chewing it and not swallow without realising it. This is totally unacceptable by food safety standards.

Management should have known that use of steel scorers for cleaning and scrubbing is hazardous in hospitality line of work. This piece of steel could easily get lodged in one's digestive tract causing health complexities.

Overall just a decent place, overpriced for the quality provided. Would only suggest Grilled chicken and shawarma based on my culinary and travel experience.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Barbequeen Restaurant in Coimbatore. Firstly, the lack of customers was concerning. It made me question the quality and popularity of the place. Secondly, the service was incredibly slow. Not only were the food items delayed, but even a simple order of roti took an unreasonably long time to arrive.The attitude of the attendant was careless and unprofessional. It was frustrating to have to repeat our preferences multiple times. It felt like we were paying a premium for subpar service and food. They seemed clueless about our order and lacked basic knowledge about the menu. It was frustrating to repeatedly explain our preferences and choices. Moreover, the prices at Barbequeen were exorbitant and not justified by the overall experience. Their Tamilnad-style chicken biryan ooh so superb item I must say it was a delightful experience. The biryani had the perfect blend of aromatic spices and tender chicken, leaving my taste buds craving for more. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up ordering it twice! Alongside the biryani, I tried their chicken tikka masala chutney, which was absolutely heavenly. I decided to try this restaurant based on its high Google rating, expecting a great dining experience. However, what I encountered was quite the opposite. My friend and I ordered half alfam manthi, anticipating a delicious meal. Unfortunately, the food that arrived at our table was cold and completely tasteless. The alfam lacked any kind of flavor and seemed stale, not fresh as one would expect from a highly-rated establishment.

The situation was so disappointing that I had to eat a candy afterward just to get rid of the unpleasant taste lingering in my mouth. This was definitely not the culinary experience I had hoped for. I approached the cashier to express my dissatisfaction, and he insisted that the alfam was made live. However, this was clearly not the case. The food neither tasted fresh nor was served hot, raising serious doubts about the restaurant's food quality and preparation practices.

It's baffling how this place has garnered such high ratings when the actual dining experience is so poor. I felt misled by the reviews and the overall rating. This experience has made me wary of relying solely on online ratings for restaurant choices in the future.
