D.R.Biriyani - Sivaji Kadai — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

People please beware: I have been eating and buying frequently here whenever i think, recommended to many friends for the past 4 years. Taste is good only. But recently i bought mutton at night. When we ate it tasted like It was in the near stage of getting spoiled. Doesn't taste fresh. We confirmed twice before returning it to the shop. I went there the owner was trying to correct the mistake with smile in his face as usual. I didn't even raised the issue loudly and calmly approached owner and cashier. I too believed owner that replacement is ready after waiting sometime i received the same mutton pieces mixed with some other mutton kidney pieces and given as mixed as new. I went without knowing this, while eating felt it was the same near spoiled mutton reheated much & and fooled me with smile. My years of trust lost. Not only this hotel. Even big restaurants think this kind of incidents wont stop ppl from coming back. But i would atleast considered him if he truly given chicken atleast as alternative or refund. Some Restaurant Businesses are thinking customer as dumping once they gain continued crowding of innocent people. I lost the trust, respect for them instantly which i was having for them years. I atleast will stop my friends having food here Saving them from food poisoning. I know this kind of incidents may happen if we run shops but this is not the correct behaviour to treat trusting customer. I even bought there after few relatives complained food poisoning some months back. As he silently gave me again the spoiled meat i am following the same by writing review without going to...

Before I go on about the food, I have to specify that you will most probably wait in a queue before eating. There is only so much shade outside the shop and given the popularity of the shop you will stand on the sun 🌞. We went at around 2 o clock in a weekday and had to wait for our turn for 15 mins. Thus this is one of the main drawback for this shop, it is rather small. So I would advice against coming here if you just want to eat quickly.

So now that's out of the way let's talk about the actual food. I had ordered a biriyani, that was a good biriyani. In fact there was only 3 types of biriyani 'Mutton', 'Chilli Chicken' and plain. The main pull for this restaurant is the side dishes, they are really good. The variety of side dishes is good and the cost of them is rather cheap compared to other shops. The 'fat fry' we ordered was really good. The Paalada payasam was also good. There wasn't anything that we ate we would classify as bad. For the food I would give a easy 5 stars.

If you ask me to name the best Biriyani shops in Coimbatore South, Sivaji Kadai / D.R.Biriyani would be one of it.

Wide variety of non-vegetarian dishes are available and the taste is also amazing.

If you are a non-vegetarian, I would recommend you to give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed and you will tend to visit again.

Dine in is very challenging at it’s peak hours and most of the orders which comes in would be takeaways. The restaurant can accommodate more or less 20 customers at a time.

Token number will be given for the each takeaways. Once the order is ready you will be called out by the token number to collect it.

It’s is located nearby Gandhi Park, Thadagam Road. As far as I know, they started selling a Chicken Biriyani is for ₹80 and it is gradually increased to ₹110 and the quantity of the Biriyani is also shrinking as the price increases which is a common technique in the current market and also called shrinkflation. 😜
