I realised the golden days of "getting cheated in Chennai" here. (by non Tamil speaking guy) Here's how it went... The menu shows 95/- Rs for Non-veg meals. I order Non veg meals. The waiter comes and asks what curry you want? And offers a choice of chicken, mutton and fish. I order mutton (hoping that, its part of non veg meals) The waiter serves meals + mutton in a bowl with "single piece" of mutton. I finish eating and reach the billing counter to pay. The man at the counter gives me bill for "221/- Rs"
Surprised to see the huge bill for normal meals + single bone of mutton....I ask the owner (in Hindi) Why 221/-?
He says in Tamil (even though he can speak Hindi) blah... Blah... You ate mutton in a bowl.
So what? It's just "a" mutton piece? Where in the world.. A single mutton bone costs 120/- extra??
He says... That's how it is here. I understood.... "welcome back golden days of Cheating in Chennai".
After speaking to a couple of Uber and Ola drivers... I thought Chennai is totally safe now.. But non Tamil speaking people... Be aware.
As for the taste of the food...."if it was 95/- it would have been worth the money" but for 221/- I ate better non food in Tamil Nadu....a LOT better.
Shame on you Millath for resorting to such...
Read moreTerrible food quality – very disappointing!
Visited Millath hotel today for dinner and had one of the worst food experiences.
The Chilly Prawn was clearly cooked in old, reused oil – had a burnt smell and unpleasant aftertaste.
The Mutton Soup was made with old, frozen mutton that was tough and had an odd smell.
The Mutton Chukka was just a pile of onions with barely any meat, and the little meat it had was also old and frozen.
Chicken Tikka Masala had a raw masala smell and tasted like the gravy wasn’t even cooked properly – it was bland, undercooked, and very disappointing.
For the price charged, the quality was absolutely unacceptable. Hygiene and freshness seem to be completely ignored here. Definitely not recommending this place unless they seriously improve food standards and start using fresh ingredients.
The food department must surely check through that this restaurant follows the rules and norms of proper food quality maintenance...
