Pappa Roti — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Papa roti is the place for freshly baked buns in Chennai. This is a small restaurant on the first floor and you can tend to miss it while you are browsing the stores at express avenue mall. Their buns come with multiple toppings and I have tried out the one with the strawberry ice cream. We also had the Morocco’s tea there. You have a variety of sandwiches and other delicacies available there. The bun is always on demand and the premixed dough comes from Malaysia. So they are always limited and by eod you will be really lucky to get the buns. Staff are grumpy. Place is kept clean however it would be good if they clean the tables a bit faster. Place can be crowded during the weekends. I would definitely visit again just to try the freshly baked. We have dined here lot of times and their food is quite nice. Last time my daughter and her friends had Teriyaki wings - amazing taste Chipotle chicken burger - brilliant

Veg Nachos - topped with lettuce and beans Bombay chilli toast - tasted amazing Chipotle cottage cheese burger - tasted good Quesadillas - bland and unappetising Bun - out of the world

Overall the taste and the whole dining experience was very nice. Once and only once I spotted a cockroach (a year back) and was appalled at the sanitary conditions and notified the personnel but after that never had such experience until now.

Yesterday, I finally visited Paparoti inside Express Avenue Mall — a much-anticipated break from shopping. The café welcomed me with cozy lighting, clean tables, and courteous staff. I chose a table near the entrance and ordered their Chicken Tikka Pizza, Ginger Tea with milk, and the Pesto Chicken Sandwich. The 12-inch thin-crust pizza was a standout — generously topped, perfectly crisp, and surprisingly better than the ones at Toscano, all for ₹595. It’s ideal for sharing. The ginger tea was flavorful and comforting, though slightly pricey. The sandwich came well-presented with crispy fries and a creamy mayo dip, making it a satisfying combo. I was genuinely pleased with both the food and service. Given the quality, I’m surprised by its 3.5-star online rating — my experience was far better.
