Food took us by surprise. Menu was distinctive with variety of dosas, podi idly, vadai and Italian section with Veg Lasagna , Augratin and pastas with appetisers like spring roll, cutlets, cheese balls, Gobi manchurian and an Indian curry and bread section (this could use quite the addition, lacked variety) Menus also had a wide variety of cold dessert sundaes, falooda. I had to try all cuisines in the menu. Indian: Tandoori Rotis with Aloo Mutter (didnt know it was semi gravy, expected a gravy) it tasted really good the flavour was really good (nice touch with kasuri methi and tangy too. They could have used less oil, the bowl was shining and soaked in oil. Roti was too dry, hard and thick. We loved the gobi manchurian, Lasagna (unique spinach sheets instead of usual flour based) , the tomato soup had too much added colour. Management team had this blank look , didnt feel welcomed. However the service staff were attentive. Overall, you could visit for a family dinner or lunch with all age group members. Seating is really spacious and good.

The consistently awesome food, the placid environ and the indulgent and quick service is what makes Kapila Dasa a favourite haunt during lunch times. Would recommend to change nothing of this, just the price, which is a quite a swell. Located in a remote corner of the food court in Express Avenue is Kapila Dasa. Heard that their few seasoned staff are from the erstwhile Dasaprakash and airline catering - very courteous and attentive, that's once you get their attention. A decent vegetarian outlet with a quiet ambience and cozy seating. While most items on their menu are true to their regional flavours, their Italian fare needs refinement. Also, most items are quite overpriced. Visited Kapila Dasa after quite a while. The fresh ambience is bright and clean. The food, of course, is spot on, talk of consistency! Dasa Dosai, their retail outlet that was located in the food court, is now part of this new setup and has limited but cozy seating.

Came in here since it was the least crowded place in EA during peak hours. Ordered dosa, kal dosa, dahi vada and chilly cheese dosai. All of which were mediocre at best. The batter was old and tasted like cardboard. Sambar was too runny and tasted like salted masala water. The almond soup was horrendous and its a crime to sell it. Chilly cheese dosa was a disaster class and Vadacurry was anything but vadacurry and the taste does not justify the sky rocketed pricing for the foods. I didn't expect my food to dance for the price it costs but atleast could have been appetizing.

My recent visit to Kapila Dasa left me thoroughly impressed and eager to share my wonderful experience. This establishment truly understands the art of fine dining and hospitality. Walking into Kapila Dasa I was immediately charmed by the ambiance. The tasteful décor and soothing lighting created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a memorable evening. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and ensured I felt comfortable throughout my visit. The culinary journey that followed was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish that graced my table was a testament to the chef's creativity and mastery. The flavors danced on my palate, and the presentation was a feast for the eyes. It was evident that only the finest and freshest ingredients were used. One dish that stood out was the Masala dosa. The combination of textures and flavors was a revelation, and I savored every bite. The menu catered to a variety of tastes, offering a harmonious balance between classic favorites and innovative creations. Equally commendable was the attentive and knowledgeable service. The staff was well-versed in the menu, and their recommendations showcased a true understanding of the dishes. It's clear that they are passionate about providing a memorable dining experience. To conclude the evening, I indulged in a dessert, the rasglluaa, which was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Paired with a well-crafted cappuccino, it left me with a sweet and satisfying finish. In a world where dining experiences are aplenty, [Restaurant Name] has truly set itself apart. It's a place where passion for food and hospitality converge to create an unforgettable journey. If you're seeking a restaurant that offers not only exquisite cuisine but also an atmosphere of comfort and elegance, I wholeheartedly recommend Kapila Dasa, for one, can't wait to return and explore more of their...

The best vegetarian food that you can get in entire Chennai. They are a part of the old heritage of Chennai as this restaurant is owned and operated by the infamous Dasaprakash Group! Let me call me to the food...

Masala Dosa: Crispy on the outside and soft inside with a dollop of butter served on a small piece of banana leaf in the center. The potato masala is to die for... Not too spicy and not too sweet... Chutneys there are 3 types of chutneys served amazing taste... The sambar is to die for!!!

Curd Rice: I promise you guys I have never tasted such a creamy curd rice ever before. When I saw the price against the curd rice i checked it twice. But when I tasted the first spoon of the dish, I never tasted anything so good in the last 17 years, since my Grandmother passed away... Coz it was like she has made put it in the serving cup and sent it to be served to me... Trust me, I might be born a vegetarian but I am not a vegetarian. This coming from a carnivore it's so amazing that, it has been a long time since I had such good food!!!

Beautiful Ambience, great safety measures, the staff so kind and courteous, you will feel like you're at your grandparents' place if you were there. I loved and Kudos to the people who run this business...

Rolls Royce Said it's really hard to keep things simple and also make it fit for a king. But Kapiladasa has achieved it... I think it's practice and the love they put in to preparing their food and run their business. Thank you. I feel that you guys are the Rolls Royce of Chennai...
