During our visit to Tanjore, we were eager to try out the renowned Mangalambiga Coffee and Tiffin Center, known for its authentic South Indian filter coffee. However, we noticed that there were several establishments with the same name, which made it a bit confusing to find the original one. Thankfully, we relied on Google Maps to locate the right place.
Once we arrived, we were delighted to find that the restaurant had a warm and inviting ambiance. We decided to start our day with a scrumptious breakfast. The menu offered a variety of options, but we decided to go with the classic choices: idly, vada, and poori masala. Each dish was freshly prepared and bursting with flavors. The idly was soft and fluffy, the vada was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the poori masala was rich and aromatic.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the filter coffee. Served in traditional stainless steel tumblers, the coffee had a rich aroma and a perfect balance of flavors. It was refreshing and left us craving for more. The taste and quality of the coffee were truly exceptional, making it well worth the visit.
Moreover, we found the prices at the restaurant to be quite reasonable, considering the deliciousness of the food and the overall experience. It felt like a great value for the money we spent.
In conclusion, our visit to Mangalambiga Coffee and Tiffin Center in Kumbakonam was a delightful experience. From the tasty breakfast options to the outstanding filter coffee, everything exceeded our expectations. The restaurant's welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and reasonable prices further added to our satisfaction. If you're in Kumbakonam and looking for an authentic South Indian breakfast accompanied by a perfect cup of filter coffee, this place is definitely...
Read more2 stars is just for food quality and taste...Apart from this there is nothing to write on this restaurant.. we had lunch on Friday afternoon, went there based on Google reviews...but completely let down.. first they don't know how to manage crowd..our family of 4 were playing musical chairs to get our seats..no one from restaurant was there to coordinate.next we have to force the cleaners to get the table cleaned which they didn't do properly...
Food was served on banana leaf, no complaints on the food taste and quality..but getting each item we have to wait for sometime...no coordination between the waiters..it was irritating to wait every time for getting something..
Another annoying thing is people waiting near you to get your seat and expecting you to finish soon...how can you have your food peacefully..Overall a bad experience..
Dining should be a good experience, it's not only the food taste, many other factors add to it..
Go to this restaurant only if u r staying near this restaurant or u don't have any option...
This review is about Mangalaambiga tiffen center in North Street near kumbeshwar temple...

We have been a regular customer of this restaurant for many years. It has been our go-to option in Kumbakonam.
When I stepped in for lunch on Jan 31, I knew the standard of food had deteriorated beyond redemption. Soggy appalam, tasteless curry. Nothing to write about the sambar. Apalling hygeine. Decided not to come back again.
Unfortunately, I had to visit again for breakfast at around 8 am on February 3. Which tiffin center does not have idlis at 8 am? When my mother asked for idlis, the waiter rudely said "Eat what we have or leave." The vada was cold, and when we asked for hot ones, the waiter pointed to a carrier near the entrance and said, " Everything has been packed for an order. Why don't you eat a dosa?"
Twice, someone came to take away the plantain leaf because it was assumed we had eaten. The truth is, it took over thirty minutes to get lukewarm idlis from the adjacent building. There was no apology or explanation. Simply an unwarranted arrogance and dismissive behavior.
If you are going to supply for orders, shut the restaurant down. Don't dictate to customers what they should order.
Please go elsewhere to eat. Don't ruin your temple trip visiting this place.
@the owner: Any number of appearances on Chef Deena's channel is not going to redeem your reputation. Don't think you can get away with a lousy attitude and even...
