Dry Jamun from Murari Sweets, Kumbakonam has held a special place in my heart for decades. This iconic sweet has been my favourite since childhood, and I still remember how excited I used to be when my relatives brought it home from Kumbakonam. Over the years, many things have changed, but the taste, quality, and authenticity of Murari’s Dry Jamun have remained exactly the same — absolutely unmatched and never displaced from the top of my favourites list.
I fondly recall my younger days when I used to buy this sweet from their shop near Ramasamy Temple along with my father from Mr. Devidoss. Back then, Mr. Ramesh who used to serve us with a warm smile and a kind heart. Even today, he remains the same — humble, down-to-earth, and known for his excellent customer service. It’s heartening to see that the tradition continues with his son now taking care of the next generation of sweet lovers with equal passion.
I can’t visit Kumbakonam often, their online service has been a blessing. It’s truly a wonderful platform for people like me who crave that nostalgic taste and want to stay connected with the flavours of their childhood. Every bite of the Dry Jamun still brings back warm memories and the same happiness I felt decades ago.
Murari Sweets is not just a sweet shop — it’s a legacy of flavour, quality, and heartfelt service. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience the authentic taste of tradition!

Read moreI have been regularly going to buy sweets and savouries for the past one month from Murari Sweets in Kumbakhonam near Adi Kumbeshwarar Temple. I have no complaint against the quality of their products or the price. My grievance is different.
In the past one month, they're virtually refusing Google Pay. Excuses like internet slow and GPay not working are given. Whenever they supply anything, they collect GST but don't give a bill unless the customer insists. The first time when I insisted on a bill, I thought they'll charge me more but they didn't. The amount is same whether with or without bill. The GST amount is pocketed if no bill is issued.
The logic is simple. Make excuses not to collect GPay or payment by debit or credit card. Don't issue bill but pocket the GST. If payment is done online, it'll be difficult to pocket the GST. Very very clever. Congratulations to the owner of Murari Sweets, Kumbakhonam.
There is a Murari Sweets in Swamimalai but the owner is different. He's one of the other brothers. Here not a single sale is done without a bill and payment by GPay, Debit and Credit Cards is accepted.
