One of the Worst Restaurant in KUMBAKONAM, over crowded, AC room doesn't work, lack of car parking no one to asist even, unfriendly staff wants you to leave quickly just because of the crowd. Food taste has lacked down worse than what it was 5-7years ago. Very hot inside the restaurant not enough ceiling fans even The food quantity doesn't even match the quality. Parottas are made with 2 inch radius compass maybe very small and unworthy, wasnt even properly cooked in the inner layers, i could eat 2 full Dosas elsewhere than in this restaurant for the price I paid. Packing cost extra 7rs for every dish as mandatory naturally when parcel is ordered but the catch is you'll have to pay extra 6RS INR/- for a carry bag (1. Piece) served Gravy/chutneys are given in a small bowl only and when asked for extra , they wish you didn't, you'll get it after 10 mins so they mostly just want your cash and dont care about what you're getting in return. The cashier is the worst you'll have to wait for 3 to 7 full minutes untill he deals with his servers and their bills doesn't even mind if you're a...

The vegetarian meal, priced at ₹110, offers just sambar, rasam, kara kuzhambu, and two simple sides—nothing that justifies the cost. Roadside eateries serve the same for half the price, and often with more flavor. Shockingly, there's no dessert included, which is a staple in most traditional South Indian meals.
The service is no better. The staff appeared uninterested and unwelcoming, as if customer satisfaction was the least of their concerns. With no sense of hospitality, the overall experience felt cold and disappointing.
What was once a well-regarded restaurant has now become an overpriced, underwhelming stop. You’re better off choosing a smaller local place where food and service...
Read moreWhile searching for lunch options in Kumbakonam, I found this place with great reviews on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. By 1:30 PM, the restaurant was already packed. The waiter suggested trying the meals. Initially, I was hesitant as I wanted to try biryani or other tiffin items, but I went ahead with the meals—and I’m so glad I did!
The meal started with unlimited podi and ghee served with rice—absolutely divine. Then came sambar, vatha kulambu, rasam, and moor, all bursting with flavor. They also served one poriyal, one kootu, and appalam. It was a complete feast, and everything on the banana leaf was incredibly tasty.
The only downside is parking, as it’s quite limited, and I had to park elsewhere. Other than that, this is one of the best lunch spots in Kumbakonam. It’s also conveniently located near the Sarangapani Perumal Temple. Highly...
