During a recent visit to Phoenix Mall, Chennai, I had the opportunity to dine at Popeyes, a well-known name in the world of fried chicken. True to its global reputation, Popeyes offers a menu centered around crispy fried chicken and a variety of sidesâsimilar in style to other prominent chains in this segment. However, Popeyes brings its own unique twist to the flavor profile, which certainly adds a distinct character to the overall experience.
One of the standout items was the popcorn chicken, which was notably juicy and flavorful. The Korean-flavored chicken I sampled had a tangy and mildly spicy kick that stood out as a refreshing variation. While the burger bun was impressively softâperhaps softer than what I've experienced at similar outletsâthe burger itself was slightly underwhelming in terms of mayonnaise and vegetable content when compared to competitors.
The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and thoughtfully designed, providing a comfortable setting to enjoy the meal. However, the self-ordering kiosk placed outside the restaurant was not functional during my visitâpossibly due to a technical issue. Fortunately, as it was a weekday, the restaurant was not crowded, ensuring prompt service and a relaxed dining experience.
The total bill came to âš1730 for four people, which is reasonable for a casual dining outlet of this type, considering the brand and the mall location.
Overall, Popeyes offers a satisfying experience for fried chicken lovers, with a few innovative flavor variations that make it worth a try. This review reflects my personal experience and impressions...
Read moreI recently visited Popeyes for lunch and ordered a burger, fries, and Pepsi combo, along with a piece of fried chicken and 2 wings. I placed the order at 15:16 and received it at 15:34. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The burger was very dry, and the fries were soggy, despite being made from unpeeled potatoes (which wasn't mentioned anywhere). While the fried chicken and wings were decent, no sauces or dips were provided, which was surprising.
Customer service and the overall atmosphere need major improvements. Staff members were chatting amongst themselves about personal matters, and the restaurant's environment was unacceptable. There were stray dogs coming inside, sleeping, and even fighting, causing concern for female customers. The entrance had food waste, and the table in front was soaked from an AC leak, with no staff attending to it.
Additionally, I noticed that the restaurant still uses plastic straws, which is disappointing considering most places have phased them out. Some staff members werenât wearing hairnets, and I even saw one handling fries without gloves and eating while on duty. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the restaurant and highlights the need for better staff training. Overall, it was a disappointing visit.
đ¨ After your reply I'll share my details on mail till now I'm not getting...
Read moreI had some worst experience in this outlet near camp road. Dine in experience is good and food is good. The only main concern is online orders. I had ordered through popeye's app. First time my delivery was delayed so much that burger and chicken became soggy. Later the store manager reached out to me and I removed the review. On June 6th I ordered in popeye's app at 11.14pm and was waiting till 12 and no update as it showed food is in kitchen. I reached out to the store and surprisingly was informed that they closed online order at 11pm. I asked the person if online order is closed how was my order taken at 11.14pm. he said maybe app glitch. I was so frustrated that I went to the store in rain. The only explanation I got was app error and rain. Popeye's is such a big brand and this reason is unacceptable. Later I got part of my order as some items were not available. Sorry for the long comments but when you take up a franchise of such big companies service should be good. I have posted my order details with...
