today myself sridhar, my mother mrs.minaakshi & my younger sister mrs.janaki had north indian thali at tulsi foods.. I came across this north indian joint only today & they serve pure vegetarian food. the north indian thali was very tasty with homely preparation of dal, gobi sabzi & alu gila sabzi with hot hot pulkas & jeera rice with dahi, gulab jamun to top it all...we even tasted sabudana vada which was served hot...we finished off our lunch with a glass of tasty sweet lassi...i have yet to come across authentic simple north indian type lunch in chennai without any complicated masalas & without any spice...it was bilkul gharelu type preparation & mild on the stomach with good taste...a small but joint...serves hot dishes ...all the best to tulsi foods...keep up the good show...regards,...

For as long as i've lived in Chennai, this place was my go-to for all kinds of parathas, meals, chat & ginger chai! The owner Kavitha is one of a kind restaurateur in town who loves to feed good food to her customers, all the while donning the sweetest of smiles. What I love about this place is how she treats every one of her employees well. While I have so much to say about this place today, Tulsi foods was one of those accidental discoveries after an evening walk when I badly wanted a authentic tasting samosa. Since then, it has never failed to impress my taste buds at every visit!

Full north indian thali wasn't unlimited either. At 240 rs you get 4 pulkhas 1 pulao 2 sabzi 1 dal 1 sweet papad dahi
Food was decent but definitely didn't feel content for the price paid. Serving sizes were too small. Pulkhas were super soft. Pulao was somewhere between sourced rice and fried rice. Didn't feel that special - will say it was just ok. Dal was decent, aloo sabzi was ok. Gobi sabzi that came with north indian thali was very nice and when we asked a serving extra they had run out and offers the aloo wale sabzi.
Overall food was ok but for the price , it may be worth if we go in for a quick lunch without...
