Vasanta Bhavan — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Near to my home. Used to come here very often. Whenever I have to eat alone, this was my default option. It was like a second home to me and know all waiters. I asked for a parcel meal. Since the rice quantity is usually more I asked for an extra rasam and sambhar. The cashier said that both cannot be given and I need to pay extra. Now some math. Meals cost Rs 120. Parcel meals 140. No big difference in quantity or items. In fact in parcel meal you won't get Morkuzhambu which will be served if you dine in. 4 small aluminium foil covers are used for packing. Is this the reason to charge Rs 20 extra? He could have easily given one rasam and one sambhar even within the cost.

The way he replied I felt bad and thought this is too much for a senior person to take it. I stopped visiting the restaurant and detached my relationship with it for good. That's my experience. And they don't look at the profile of the people. I used to tip Rs 20 or more even to the watchman standing outside who helps with car parking. But today we live in a valueless world. All pure commercial transactions. And that's typical Chennai. In our native place deep south we exhibit better...

I don't like their service !!? Very rude behaviour with the customers. staff behaviour was not acceptable and it's very disrespectful when they spoke with me in a dismissive tone and don't know how to receive customers.. Appalam quality was not good They not kept payasam After I am asking everything to the staff And then they are bringing.... I would give negative rating if there was an option! An absolute waste of time and money. Thoroughly disappointed. Used to be good at one point in time. But now,hopeless..we had their spl limited breakfast combo(Rs 100)comprising of 1 idli,1 mini podi dosa, 1 vada, mini poori, sweet(kesari), ven pongal, vada curry, 2 chutneys and sambhar,mini coffee..the quantity as such was quite less...dosa was fit to be called micro and it had literally no podi. Idly was hard. No trace of ghee in kesari or pongal. Side dishes were all below average. And to end it,a very sugary coffee. The poori was the only thing which was atleast edible. Never felt so disappointed after any meal. I really repent coming here...
