First things first... visit the place only if you prioritise taste over cleanliness, hygiene, ambience !!

So, this is truly a tiny joint tucked away in a narrow lane, where its not feasible to take your car in. But the positive part is that the main road is pretty wide and you should be able to park and walk in. And yes, even while walking in, the sights n sounds n smell may put you off.

We made our way up to the first floor for AC section. The ground floor had a very nice rustic feel to it but it was way too badly commercialised, utilizing, in fact creating every opportunity to make space for an additional chair or table for guests. First floor has 6 - 8 tables with a rickety AC and a sliding door... point is it does its job, which is to ensure you're not sweating.

But if you persevere, you will be rewarded - especially if you are a non vegetarian. The food is served hot and is spicy, as most places in the South are... we had Fish fry, Prawns, Mutton brain, Mutton Liver, with mutton and chicken curries. None of them disappointed us. The fish fry and Brain were stand out dishes. The rasam was really yummy and comllimented the fried items really well.

Vegetarian folks may struggle as you wont get anything other than the standard sides, stuff you get in a simple meal. No stand alone dishes in vegetarian.

I had the pleasure of visiting Karthik Mess during my recent ride along the tiruchirapalli, and I must say, this place is a hidden gem for anyone looking for authentic and delicious food. After hours on the road, this spot was the perfect place to stop for lunch, and it did not disappoint.

The highlight of my meal was the Biriyani—it was absolutely flavorful, cooked to perfection with the right blend of spices. It had a rich aroma that immediately made my mouth water, and the taste was even better. The portion size was generous, and it was served hot and fresh.

Another standout dish was the Nandu (crab) Omelet. I’ve tried crab dishes at many places, but this omelet was unique and bursting with flavor. The crab meat was fresh, and the seasoning was spot on. It complemented the biriyani wonderfully.

The ambiance of Karthik Mess is simple and homely, which adds to the overall charm. The staff were polite, attentive, and ensured that the service was quick, which is a big plus when you're on a road trip.

After seeing so many YouTube review we visited this place. We faced both positive and negative sides of this restaurant.

Positive: We can get large number varities in non veg side. They ll show u the food plate to choose. Large space to accommodate large crowd They are giving unlimited meals with smiling face Friendly service Located heart of the town Parking prety easy for 2 wheeler 4 wheeler bit difficult 90% seats will get occupied with in 15 min Average waiting time 15-20 min Mutton items are good (except cola) AC hall available No health issue after eating food Perfect time 1-3 PM, No breakfast No Dinner.

Negative Oily, greasy curry (Mostly all masala items) unable to eat half plate Worst chicken item, we recieved over cooked chicken. They are using same oil to fry fish and chicken (I got fish flavour in chicken 65) In Cola, we are not getting mutton taste simply fried gram cola. All suggest crab omlate but quantity of crab is less, when compare to other hotel. This also comes with extra oil. Over priced food when compare to 2019 -20 Youtubers, over rated this place. We are unable to find what kind of cusine it is. Trichy famous for inamkulaththur style biriyani, but this briyani taste is totally different.
